UTEP FAU OPT and Game Thread

Believe it or not, our free throw shooting was better than FAU's. That is the only bright(er) spot as we were absolutely abhorrent in our inside/outside shooting. Layups anyone?

(Way too early) Men's basketball starting lineup predictions (22-23)

Well, I figure someone must start this. If someone is willing to put forth their prediction/suggestion for next year's possible starting lineup, please do so. I have been checking the backgrounds and stats of all our recruits, and all I can come up with is Sibley at small forward. I feel Kalu...

    OT: Ominous Vibe

What happened to the "sports only" forum? Didn't we have whole threads deleted previously because they became too political and polarizing? It's great to see there is obviously no mod for this forum (spam, disinformation, and now the same people spewing their political positions ad nauseum)...

A tale of one team, two different games

I'm wondering if it were a late season lack of focus against Marshall, for whatever reason. They should not have been suffering from physical fatigue as they had a long break and did not play until Sunday (albeit a Super Bowl Sunday?). This was after the previous Monday's hard fought game at...

A tale of one team, two different games

The Miners were not particularly hot shooting in either the Marshall or the Louisiana Tech games. It appeared Marshall was on fire against us; and Tech was particularly cold. I would argue, however, that our defense (or lack thereof) was the key variable and difference maker in the two games...

We can add the women to the winner's column after their game today. They are now 4-0 and look solid!

That would be wonderful and exceed my expectations. But then again, I never predicted a 7-win season (I was settling for 5 wins).

    This weekend...

All in all, it's been a very good weekend for UTEP sports thus far...whether we were supposed to win our games or not. We avoided the "UTEP choke" in both men's football and basketball. Let's hope it carries over into Monday night. Who knows--we might even get accustomed to winning. The Rice...

I agree, Axing, we certainly do need both Kalu and Maring. Let's hope they make the necessary adjustments--both look out of sync right now.

Possible add to CUSA (all sports)--my choice

Interesting...thanks for posting JCor. To tell the truth--I couldn't make it all the way through the softball coach's spiel, but Ritchie McKay is still Ritchie McKay (except he seems to have found his niche at Liberty...).

Possible add to CUSA (all sports)--my choice

I did some background research on E. Kentucky. It reads as though they are committed to making the move and upgrading. I now feel they may be a good match (if not optimal).
