Bloomquist keeps it real

Tennessee very good. Too much speed and talent to keep it close. Aggie's up next, lets get that win...
worry about next season, next season.
I am not disappointed nor did I expect a winning season. So, I will be buying my season tickets for next year.
Now, we must show some major improvements to get to a bowl game.
Got to ready to "move on up" to the Mountain West side of town..
Think like a champion, Act like a champion and play like a champion... that's all we ask..

Perfectly stated

Absolutely no improvement in the offense during the course of the season! None! Senter supposedly hired this offensive genius to attract fans with his high-scoring offense that was supposed to light up the scoreboard? This year’s offense is no better than the slop devised by Kugler or Dimel. Utep scoring offense is ranked 127, NMSU 119, UNM 26, UNLV 8.
Utep hired the wrong coach, again. Should have hired the Unlv offensive coordinator.

Give it time. The recruits are coming. Walden is the right guy

Kudos on Bloom for being vocally critical of a UTEP program! Could be, as he’s gotten older, he’s become a lot more surly and cares not to entertain mediocrity.

I mean the guy stopped live tweeting the game after the first half because he knows. To an extent AB is critical, but outside of those two we don’t need any more kiss asses to these under performing coaching staffs.

I think more and more people are getting fed up with the same old UTEP bullshit.

Bloom is in and out of the UTEP dog house which he calls it like he see's it, but he is the only one with leverage to cover UTEP athletics, financially, boosters, fans, legally protected access, etc..

I don't want a reporter who hides in the bushes and plays "peekaboo! I see you!" reporting like one TV sports reporter once did with UTEP athletes a few years back. But I sure as hell don't want to see knee pad wearing love fest that some local reports have had for someone like say, NMSU's AD, Moccia who would have probably been fired in any other of the 49 states.

Bloom puts conjecture when alternative source analysis is needed so we as fans can know if the major revenue coaches have UTEP going in right direction. I.e.- call out Senter for being suckered by Dimel AND Snyder. Ask Walden if transplanting a major chunk of UTEP roster with FCS players from AP was a good idea on day 1?! Ask if the #1 recruiting class will be ready in year 2? Ask Senter if Golding struggles in recruiting are the reason for any post season activity when other conferences foes, like NMSU and WKU hires, bring in hi impact players in year 1?

2step, I don’t mean to be a dick, but until I reach the bolded part, all I can say is, “WHA?!?” and “Huh?!

That was mentioned to me from a former Miner lendary player. That's all I will say. I do not divulge my sources unless THEY go public.

He had a good recruiting class, last year and this year, right? That question has been brought up by posters on here, not me.

Ask Senter if Golding struggles in recruiting are the reason for any post season activity when other conferences foes, like NMSU and WKU hires, bringing in hi impact players in year 1?

Hooten is a damn good recruiter and tasked for a job that is usually given to more tenured coaches to literally rebuild a program to get back in good graces. He got good transfers but not enough bodies to finish a game.

Second, Steve Lutz came to WKU and had immediate success. They overachieved and he went into Oklahoma State.

Finally, listen to a coach Golding post games comments. He has admitted that with the "challenges of the portal" he has not had quite the success he hoped, but got some targeted players and recruits. His words, not mine. Go ask yourself, but you will probably get a "well, that's college basketball" type answer. I am not roasting him, he tells the truth like he did year one after each CUSA game he kept stating how good CUSA was that year. He was right as CUSA teams did well post season that year. However, we as UTEP fans expect Steve Lutz type results and Hooten type recruiting that made SHSU and WKU an CUSA threat.

Dimel, may he rest in peace and showed that you don't need to pop a vein to be a head coach like Kugler, was not a good hire. News came out that Snyder called UTEP and pushed hard that Dimel was their man and it was a persuaded push on UTEP. Senter changed the story and said his "high energy" and "bullet point to rebuild" is what sold him and yes they had top assistants apply but "they wanted too much money". Senter got googly eyed over Snyder call, just admit it.

Golding was a "lightning in the bottle" hire. He beat UT in NCAA and that story was looped over and over. He is from a solid coaching tree but his resume was "eh" not bad, but he is an outstanding defensive coach, which he is. Scotty is exciting and runs a fast offense and polar opposite of Dimel and fans wanted change. But his resume is also "eh" but his personality and style sold Senter obviously. However, Scotty has just one year here, Golding is not. The bar is much higher for Golding no matter how far removed UTEP is from Haskins.

Back to football, Bloomquist has had enough and wants the same pushback on football like what is shown for basketball and rightly so. Year two recruiting crown goes to Scotty again, let's see some hardware in year two as UTEP heads off to the MW.

Bloom is not a "rah rah" nor a "gotcha" beat writer but sometimes you need to be forceful even when they lock the door on you.
