Burges RB Tavorus Jones receives offer from University of Alabama

EL PASO, Texas -- You can't say El Paso doesn't have the talent when it comes to football.

Back in April, Burges High School running back from the University of Texas, but that was only a sign of big thin sday, Jones tweeted that he had received another division one offer, this time from the University of Alabama.

The Crimson Tide, led by head coach Nick Saban, are a powerhouse in the SEC having won 17 national titles in its history.

The last national championship for Alabama was in 2017.

Jones is entering his junior season at Burges, but top programs across the country are already taking notice, and rightfully so.

During his sophomore season Jones put up big numbers both as a running back and also a receiver.

Jones rushed for more than a thousand yards and scored 15 touchdowns, but he was also productive through the air.

Jones had 498 receiving yards and 5 touchdowns.

He has plenty of time to decided where he wants to play at the next level, but without question more offers will be coming his way.

Jones has offers from the University of Texas and Southern Methodist University (SMU).

Hard to believe in Dimel's "Five year plan" that not being involved in two of the top three offensive talents to come out of El Paso is a thing.

We pay him a lot of money, the question is legit, why did he not offer Dumas and now this kid?!?!?!?

He too busy looking for the next washout from a p5 school with character issues, athletic ability but no work ethic and terrible fundamentals.

While it’s hard for UTEP to compete against the likes of UT and Bama, Dimel and staff have to aggressively pursue Dumas and Jones. These are the type of blue chippers that don’t come around very often in El Paso. Who knows, these guys may consider playing for UTEP like A Jones and D Hankins did. It also helps UTEP’s image by being associated with the recruitment of these highly sought athletes.

So, is he better than Aaron or did Aaron’s success create more awareness of him?
Both but Fort Bliss is directly responsible and what I mean is B.R.A.C.. So this left of center democrat has to thank Donald Rummsfeld who sent an entire mechanized division to Fort Bliss. Otherwise, El Paso wouldn't be seeing this explosion of high school talent the past few years.
