I loved David Van Dyke. His shot blocking wasn't only a product of those incredibly long arms of his, but of great timing and anticipation as well. He was also a good scorer and rebounder. He and Maxey combined to make an outstanding front court for that '92 Sweet 16 team. We could certainly use someone of his talents on our current team.
2step, I know that you don't like Nowins as a poster but you should at least try to read each individual post without bias. In his last post he wasn't insulting Van Dyke or the Miner Basketball Team. His beef was with the UTEP Marketing department for not making a promotion out of honoring our all time shot blocking leader and a key member of our 1992 Sweet Sixteen team. And he's right. This is just one of countless examples where the Marketing Department has completely dropped the ball. Hell, they should hire me to be Director of Marketing. I don't know squat about marketing, but I do know that I couldn't do any worse.Incredulous.
And if he’s just there and only attending this game to watch it, then UTEP is doing nothing wrong.

Honestly they need to do better than that. Posting stuff on UTEP social media accounts is like preaching to the choir. They need to figure out ways to reach a broader range of El Pasoans.

Agree 100%, but for someone to say they “have no marketing department” as an excuse, is poor. Senter can pump out the tweets himself or have some intern compose it for him. That should be the minimum.
