What's next in college football realignment? A common sense plan to bond Group of 5
After a few weeks of separation being the theme, the world appears tightly bunched after Week 1. Things on the field look a lot closer than we were led to believe.

This would be nice. Even though I wish we could share a conference with at least one other Texas school.
Nope. Just means two schools like UTEP will not go bowling so those Pac12/Big10 teams can.

Since we wouldn't have to play UNM and NMSU ooc it would be perfect to replace them with h&a Texas teams. The likes of SMU, Texas St and our current CUSA Texas teams.

100%. They’re not the SEC and they don’t have a huge brand like USC, Ohio St, or Michigan, but they’re still in the club. However, Oklahoma St, KSt, or Baylor really need to step up and become that elite football program to remain there in the next 10 years
Happened to the mwc too. They were getting close to the marks that would make them part of the bcs cartel when Utah and TCU were poached and BYU decided to go Indy.
If the MWC were able to keep those 3 and add Houston and Boise, they would have been the real P6

Big 12 Extends Membership Invitations
The Big 12 Conference Board of Directors this morning voted to extend membership invitations to Brigham Young University, the University of Central Florida, the University of Cincinnati, and the University of Houston to join the Conference.

I think the SB will take the two best teams remaining from CUSA after AAC takes their picks.
CUSA may be gutted into non existence after the AAC and Sun Belt raids them (and perhaps the MWC too). Where does that leave UTEP? I think the only option would be the WAC, since it's apparent the MWC doesn't want them. But since the WAC doesn't have FBS football (at least not yet), where does that leave the program? Only one option - independent.
Nmsu, Tarleton St, ACU, and SFA have accepted invitations to CUSA.

And don't forget Lamar. UTEP once hosted Lamar for homecoming and had 49,000 attend. We could even charge a premium. Lol
