David Hamm just arrested for sexual while at UTEP...

This answers a lot of questions on why after a promising spring, he up and left. If he engaged in this behavior then coach did the right thing by booting him off the team.

I'll pray for all those involved.

Another mystery solved and another mystery that will surround him (as to why did Kugler not say anything earlier) on the eve of a very important game. All Kugler had to say in the spring was that "he let Hamm go for behavior not accepted by him and UTEP, that's all I can say at this time". Period, end of story! Now you will have people and media prying into your program looking for stuff that may or may not be there; especially since your record the last three years sucks rocks!

You're going to get questionable players, it happens. Don't be an Art Briles and not say anything! That is bad f'en Karma and builds mistrust; especially since you work for a public institution. At least Briles can get away with it, he's winning right now (but it will catch up to him).

This is a good example of why some people get on you about being negative without doing a whole lot of research. One of the TV stations reported that Kugs stated to the El Paso Times in August that Hamm was let go for "disciplinary reasons". Obviously, Kugs can't say why because of legal proceedings. It turns out that charges weren't actually filed until October so there would not have been any reason for kugs to comment any further. He handled it exactly as he should have Keeping in mind the potential liability to the University and himself.

Exactly, and wonder if the accusations were false, or charges never filed. I sure Kugler investigated what happened or Hamm admitted what occurred and he was dismissed. Kugler as coach can only determine if team rules are violated and act according to the teams well being which he did and he responded the exact way he should. Kugler cannot commit, provide information to the public about a crime committed by a player nor can he determine guilt, that is the legal system's job. The reference to Briles and the Baylor incident can't be compared. The question with Briles is did he know of a players past and if he did, did he conspire to hide that knowledge. Kugler had knowledge or information and acted in the only way he could, he dismissed the player, he hid nothing, did not conspire to hide and did not publicly bring about a
accusation against a player. He acted in the most ethical and legal way possible.
