I've noticed this repeatedly on ESPN. Tonights Mavs- Hawks game for instance.
They show Dallas at -2.5, but they have Atlanta a 52.5 % favorite to win. I've seen the same thing on multiple Miners games. Is it the Vegas line vs ESPN's own contradictory pick?

ESPN just changed their prediction. Now they have Mavs a big favorite probably because injured players are returning.

The line is the point at which the sportsbook thinks it can take in enough money on both sides to cover the bet. Vegas isn't in to predicting. It's in to making money.

The ESPN percentage is their computer simulation of the game. They are independent of each other.

Thanks. I knew that, but just pointing out ESPN quite goes contrary to the Vegas line.

There are a lot of numbers that you will find that are off. ESPN has a BPI for College Basketball. Maybe that is what they are using.

There are some other websites that have predictors based on different factors as well.

It is interesting to see the accuracy of all of these predictors.
