So far, the conference is not getting it done.

MTSU lost to Belmont soundly on Monday (Belmont is no slouch program and neither is the Ohio Valley Conference) but it's still technically an upset.

UTSA lost to OU by 20 on Monday.

Rice beat Alabama A&M.

Tonight:

UTEP at Arizona. Arizona is mas o menos favored to win by 20 to 25.

Rice vs Houston. Houston heavily favored.

UTSA and Okie State. Just 12 for OSU. This is the best shot for CUSA.

Rice and itep will be toward the bottom of CUSA this year so those are bad examples. Middle Tennessee has proved themselves 2 years in a row in NCAA, but this year is rebuilding and UTSA is good, not great. W. Kentucky, ODU, Marshall and maybe UAB are the only teams that maybe can get close to getting bids this year. Maybe throw La Tech in there too, you felled to mention they won at Wichita St.

I think the USM win is the most impressive. Wichita State is going to struggle this year.

FAU over UCF is a really good win. The Knights were a preseason top 40 team. Hell, Andy Katz picked them to win the AAC, ahead of Cinci and UH.

Good win for Doc, but SMU is going to struggle this year too. They are, at best, mid pack AAC.

The perception of C-USA mbb should get a lift from an ODU win vs 25th ranked Syracuse at their place. It's not likely to last unless the conference follows that up with more wins like that. When UTEP beats ODU at the Don we will have to bring this up.

Syracuse will probably have 8-12 wins over Tournament teams. ODU will have this win and victories over UTEP and FAU
