Glad Coach Walden is finding success in recruiting talent to El Paso.
Yes, we're winless but playing all these freshmen could give us hope that Scotty is building. I still think he needs to hit the portal for some lineman.
I’ll call it this year already. Best case scenario we win 3 games. Most likely though 1 or 2. Miner fans will be upset, but this was expected except for the S. Utah loss. The recruiting has drastically improved, but that will take time along with the culture. I’d say next year if Walden can improve to 5+ wins then there’s hope for year 3 to be really good going into the MWC.

However, as much as I wanted Dimel removed, he did recruit good players.
He appears to be a good recruiter. If so, better players will certainly help. But even good players will be hampered by poor play calling, and Walden's play calling this season has been atrocious.
At least on paper Walden is recruiting more talented players. The FCS players he brought in though this year along with what little Utepe brought back is clearly not enough though. Our receivers are fast, but to tiny to compete at this level and our offensive line is probably the worst in FBS.
Hopefully next year he realizes that the offense coordinator should call the plays.
That might be for the best. Either way our Offensive line is Outstandingly Awful this year, so it doesn’t matter much!
The focus should be linemen on both sides. The battle is won in the trenches. One thing Dimel did right was recruit talented linemen.
