McCulley injury update

Gabriel McCulley, who recently had arthroscopic knee surgery to repair a torn meniscus, could be seen riding the stationary bike at UTEP's Feb. 9 basketball practice.

He also also walked up and down the Don Haskins Centers' stairs to test the knee, sporting a black knee pad on his right knee.

Jackson injury update

Teammate Stefon Jackson followed suite, using the stationary bike as well. He is suffering from back spasms after injuring his upper back in the Feb. 7 game on the road against Tulsa.

"He landed very hard on his back and upper neck and back of his head," head coach [db]Tony Barbee[/db] said. "We want to rest him today so he's physically rested as possible for Wednesday."

But don't fret, the third-year head coach said the senior guard will suit up and play for the Miners when UCF comes to town Feb. 11.

"Yeah he'll be playing," Barbee said. "It's just a precautionary time to keep him out of practice, we don't want him to further aggravate the back."

He could also be seen trying to stretch the tender back muscle and was held out of most of the practice drills.
