Alright, I have waited a long time to post and I know I am in the minority on the board. I just think it has been a difficult year for the miners due to the loss of Wilms and Hunter. Vince would have made a huge difference defensively and Wilms would have protected the basket better than Vint. I don't like to single out players but in this case I believe Vint as a senior plays horrible defense and consistently gives up easy baskets and does not protect the rim. Earvin Morris is either good or terrible. Today he was terrible...three turnovers in a row by a senior is unacceptable.

The landscape of College basketball has dramatically changed and the coaches need to adjust especially in Mid Major conferences. One might say Coach Floyd has had bad luck the past 3 years with scandals and lost players. However, I do not think he has lost this team. Offensively today they looked really good sharing the ball but just missed a couple of easy layups and clutch open three's as they have all year. Statiscally the last couple of games the Miners have improved and you would have hoped for a victory. A few more adjustments and I believe things will get better.

I am hoping for a nice run in the tournament. As Mike Jarvis was saying on the Fox Sports broadcast. At this point it is not about wins and losses it is about teaching and learning from your mistakes so you can make a run in March.

I totally agree!

The loss of wilms didnt hurt this team. Wilms isnt a rim protector and he doesnt rebound well. He isnt a d1 center. If I had the choice between hooper, Wilms and Venegas, I would pick Venegas. There are no good options at center but at least Venegas has a little upside and he works hard.

Venegas has a lot of upside. Players from Mexico play with a chip on their shoulder, and I mean that in a good way. They play hard and they play like the have something to prove (that they are just as good as the four or five star street baller from the United States).
