Playing for the Pistons would be a dream come true for Hunter. I wish him the best

A dream come true for me would be seeing J. Wash in a Celtics uni.

"The Celtics held their first draft workouts of the spring at their Waltham training facility on Wednesday [last week]. Malcolm Miller (Holy Cross), Julian Washburn (UTEP), Sir’Dominic Pointer (St. John’s), Aaron Thomas (Florida State), Dez Wells (Maryland), and Anthony Brown (Stanford) all took part, according to the team."

VH quote 1:
"If I have to play in the Developmental League, I'll just take that as an opportunity and a blessing, and play hard."

VH quote 2:
"I want to provide for my family."

Ugh, these quotes do not belong together. The D-League pays peanuts and most players do not get called up. If Vince felt pressure to leave school now to support his family, then he's better playing in Europe on a salary for which he could conceivably support his family, or at least himself.

I think somebody gave him some bad advice. Who told him to forgo his education to support his family? By playing in the D-League? He could have "developed" on scholarship for another year in an attempt to improve his draft position.

I do wish him the best and I hope he beats the odds and finds his way onto a team.

Not so. I apprenticed for a specific field in real estate. It was a good decision family wise (stability and better income that came with experience gained), but I made peanuts early in that career. Every good job has bad and good. One of my in laws works in R & D for Cat. and when union workers strike or the economy goes bad, they're in front half of the pink slip line or have to work the line. Engineers are too cost heavy.

Hunter will get a chance at the NBA....later rather than sooner. Hope he has a legitimate total of 2 years of college hours completed going to attain a college degree - that will help providing for his family too.
