Yes. Getting to the Mountain West is a must. I would donate big time for a buyout if needed. And just like that MTSU season done. A conference where even a 24-7 final record, and scheduling tough teams will get u a mid level seed in the NIT if you dont win your tournament. Its laughable. Get us out Senter! Lol

Going to Conf USA was the biggest scam and joke from the getgo. Regionally its never made sense. Financially it hasnt made sense for a long time. And recruiting wise its making no sense for us. If we could get to the MWC I think a lot of people honestly believe we could be competitive. Better athletes, better coaches, and more opportunity for fans to enjoy the game. Was leaving the WAC for conf usa really a step up? Time has proven and its obvious it was a bad decision. I just hope i see a better opportunity for the fans and players in my lifetime. Sad way for Midd Tenn to end the year.
The biggest mistake was declining the MW invitation when UH, SMU, Memphis and UCF left CUSA. Had we stayed in the WAC instead of moving to CUSA in 2004 we might have found ourselves conferenceless like our friends up i10.Going to Conf USA was the biggest scam and joke from the getgo. This is not going to be a popular opinion but I think had Floyd not given up we would have finished middle of the pack and advanced to the semifinals.
You’re right the team did give up. I still have fresh in mind the 2-13 start that led to finishing tied for 3rd in conference. With Sadler beating MTSU it inspired that comment. TF could flat out coach anyone in this league.Yes, that is not popular because it is absolutely ridiculous. We were essentially 0-6 with Floyd, with one win against a division 2 opponent which doesn't count. How can you even reasonably think that this team would all of a sudden turned it on and finished in the middle of the pack? They actually won 4 straight as soon as he left which shows he was the problem the whole time.
The team gave up on Floyd and it showed.
Ya I agree....finishing around .500 and being a middle of the pack CUSA team, and getting blasted in the semifinals would have made this season so much better. Then have to deal with the fact Tim Floyd will probably be returning for his 9 th season here, and Purplefire’s posts on we can’t give up on Floyd because it took Kermit Davis along time to turn things around at MTSU.This is not going to be a popular opinion but I think had Floyd not given up we would have finished middle of the pack and advanced to the semifinals.
Always a class guy? Yup.That's good to hear. Doc gets an unfair rap because he left for a higher paying job and his recruiting "sucked". Most fans will bash the old and praise the new. Still after many years, Doc still gets bashed.
Doc Sadler was 100 times the coach that Floyd was here and Floyd's recruiting truly did "suck". Doc was always a class guy.
Let's pray that it gets us 2 in the tournament, but with the way SDSU is destroying Nevada, the MW may get 2 in as Nevada seems to be a lock, and that may lead to only 1 for CUSA.
Does anyone have any idea how Nevada and MTSU compare? Minerinciter you seem good at that. Please give me your opinion. It looks like Nevada's RPI is in the top 15, so there is no way they are going to be left out.
Yup CrazyMTSU got a 3 seed in the NIT, which means they weren't even one of the first 8 out.
