MBB Coach: Billy Clyde Gillespie, now HC at Tarleton State

FB HC: Colby Carthel, now HC at SFA

What would your picks be for UTEP athletics?

Didn't Billy lay to rest his return to UTEP? Mainly for health reasons (and his personal demons)?

He retired once in 2016 but came back to coaching because he loves it so much. He had high blood pressure and needed a kidney transplant, which he received in 2018. He praises the fans in EP saying they really appreciate good coaching. He also said after retiring from basketball that he would rather die than stay away from coaching basketball. He is back in coaching now and he might be the coach we need. Maybe next year if this year sucks for UTEP.

We didn't let him go, he would have left anyway. I think it's a shame he hasn't received another job after Auburn.
