So I found this article from 1984 written by The NY Times. Nothing special just wanted to share it with the board in case someone is interested in reading it.

Basically, UTEP became too successful for it's own good. Should've stayed in its place.

What kind of terrible things have other programs gotten away with? Baylor? Penn State? Florida? Ohio State? It's ridiculous.

The death of the NCAA will not be sad. It's a cartel meant to keep programs like UTEP down, meant to keep the athletes down for the sake of the privileged coaches, ADs, markets who run the show.
