"She says the men tried haggling with the girls over the $5.00 programs, bribing them with a patch and suggesting they be girlfriends for their friends. When the girls stood their ground, asking to be paid the $5.00, Wardy says they were called "pushy" and cursed at."

Totally uncalled for however, there are beer sales flying out of the ice coolers like Haley's Comet at the Sun Bowl so there should have been an adult with the girls. There's supposed to be an adult with them, right? I know for the Boy Scouts there has to be.

I wasn't there, but I call bs. Everyone wants to call foul on everything anymore. There will probably be a lawsuit coming....

shit is out of control

I think someone is looking for attention. I don’t believe it all. To say that that 9 year old girls were sexually harassed by grown men and the Boy Scouts were given hand shakes and also told by fans they are proud of them? I don’t believe.

What I think happened, is some drunk dude gave 1 girl a hard time about the price of a program and then an angry mother exaggerated the story because claiming sexual harassment is so hot right now.

The mother was with them.

There was police and security everywhere. She should have reported them.

Some of the comments on her Facebook post are ridiculous calling all men evil and things like that.

I can imagine this happening. I see firsthand how low class and inappropriate fans can be at every game and event.

You have seen grown men sexually harass young girls?

What low class things and inappropriate things do you see at every UTEP event?

In 2018, in a packed stadium if it was so out of control at the game, someone has to have video. I have a hard time believing someone didn’t video tape it or say something. But whatever..... it was probably a couple of drunk shitheads.

Exactly, if that happened it would have been very easy to tell security or a police office since they were all around. If I was a parent and this happened I would have done that in a second.

I just can't believe somebody when they make a long Facebook post after the fact and have no proof it ever happened.

So apparently the mother was there but didn't hear what happened.

"I didn't "watch" them be harassed. I've said repeatedly that we could not hear over the noise of the crowd. Had I seen one of them be physically touched then yes, I would have immediately stepped in.

As it was, they had upsetting things said to them, they handled it perfectly, and now they are that much stronger for the next time."

I think maybe the girls just misheard what the guy was telling them. The mother even admitted there was a lot of noise. I do not believe for a second that a grown man would say those things to young girls with tons of people around.

And now this mother posted a link to donate to her troop with a Paypal link. Yep, definitely BS.

If the lady has started a PayPal account to donate to her Girl Scout troop, then KTSM should call her out on it and ask questions.
It’s kinda fishy.... Girl Scout troop selling programs at the game to raise money for summer camp , Boy Scout troop gets treated like “super heroes” during game, 9-11 year old Girl Scouts get sexually harassed during game , Mom posts on Facebook, news runs story, and boom.. mother in Girl Scout troop makes Pay Pal account to donate to troop after news runs story.

Even more interesting that this woman is a speaker, author, and childhood advocate and has a book called: "How Parents Can Fight the STEREOTYPING and SEXUALIZING of Girlhood, From Birth to Tween"

This woman clearly did this to get more press for her book.

It's funny because I read reviews for her book and some of the negative comments stated that even in her book she states many times promoting her webstore.

And also not surprising, she posted the same comments on her personal Facebook page AND her commercial page.

Dosnt sound true to me. There had to be other people around, and that kind of language would have been reported to security. I doubt if anyone would let young ladies be harresed like that.

Just looking at a few of this woman's post and pictures, this women is clearly a wannabe political activist who unfortunately is using her child as a political pawn.

So this lady’s Girl Scouts get sexually harassed and she asks the Girl Scouts if they want her to go talk to the guys, they say no, and she does not confront them. If I was in her shoes, I would demand the girls show me who the people are, I would get security and confront them if my girls were sexually harassed. But she did absolutely nothing and goes on Facebook to report it. Total BS

Can u please post the link to her PayPal account
Hopefully the Sun Bowl committee looks into this further. Surely a police report should have been filed by the troop leader if 9 to 11 year old girls were sexually harassed. Especially if the Girl Scouts knew where they guys were sitting. There were plenty of witnesses at the time. If the leader made no attempt to notify police immediately after the girls were sexually harassed, then she needs to be questioned why.

This is what hasn't been answered: Why weren't police or security called because it would have been very easy to do so. This story just doesn't make any sense.

Yep. We live in a Facebook society now. If you see it written on someone’s personal Facebook account it is 100% accurate and cold hard facts and proof don’t exist anymore.

Yep, I was just told on here yesterday that facts don't matter and they don't need to prove anything to be right.

I think what's even worse is that there are many women posting this is how men act and that men are evil. It's sad that some women are bringing up their daughters telling them that men are bad people.

Wow this Board is dry! 2nd irrelevant post this week.
It happened in the Sun Bowl. It's a very serious accusation that happened at UTEP on UTEP soil.

So if a UTEP professor discovers a way for realistic actual light travel across the universe and I or someone posted it on here, that is not relevant because it's non UTEP sports related?

A fact exist even without the empirical observation of a subject or A.I.. A tree does make a sound in the woods (at least on this planet) because of gravity, energy, and air (sound waves from the tree falling and hitting the ground).

My point is when alcohol is introduced in mass quantities, people's inhibitions go from deep dark areas of your brain to reality in a persons mind in a nanosecond when the alcohol "bites" a person.

I totally believe her testimony but I also believe she's throwing a little extra gravy. Some jerk was drunk and gave them a hard time and made inappropriate comments.

Watched the newscast, my take. First, must have been a slow news day, but that TV station was GROSSLY irresponsible and incompetent for giving a megaphone to an activist with absolutely ZERO vetting of any facts supporting the allegations. That's not news and it sure as HELL isn't investigative reporting. It was basically an infomercial and, ultimately, a tool for raising money. Her failure to follow the most basic protocol for reporting an incident in a timely manner should have been the first clue that there was potentially an underlying agenda. And that goes to the power of 10 when she subsequently used the TV exposure and allegations as a fund raiser.

Second, let's be clear - the allegations may have been 100% accurate, for all we know. Bulletin - there ARE creeps out there who should be held accountable. But there also are people out there who fabricate or magnify facts and events to promote an agenda. Point is, we'll never know because she failed to act in good faith in a timely manner and follow even the most basic of reporting protocols. That makes her allegations suspect, IMO. Not necessarily false, but suspect.

The importance of accurate, timely, and objective journalism and reporting has never been greater in this country. This television station was grossly negligent, incompetent, and irresponsible for airing this "news".

If she said her girls were heckled about paying $5 for a program by a few drunk fans and she was mad and posted it on Facebook, I would believe her. And as a Pack Leader, why is she allowing 9-11 year old girls to roam freely around the Sun Bowl with no adult's escorting them with drunk fans around.

But saying her 9 to 11 year old girl scout girls were sexually harassed at the Sun Bowl changes everything and you better have proof. And she even admits that she didn't confront the men because her girl scouts said not to. She she pretty much did NOTHING when her girls were sexually harassed. She won't take time to go confront guys who sexually harass little girls, but she takes time to start a Pay Pal account so people can send her $$$. Total BS.

The Girl Scout Council should be considering stripping this lady of being a pack leader cause she is clearly incompetent to be one.

I read the article and to be honest, it's quite possible that this happened. I have been going to sporting events for years and have witnessed drunk idiots doing all kinds of moronic things. Unfortunately El Paso has a lot of drunk idiots and I wouldn't be surprised if some guy did in fact do this. That's just my opinion so take it for what its worth.

I alluded that just by reading her posts and knew she is a wannabe activist. It's sad that she is using her daughter to try to get relevant.

Very interesting that this woman now claims this happened two times, but did nothing about it both times and not one person is coming forward to say this happened.

"I never asked for money. I encouraged people to donate to their local Girl Scout Council if so moved. I have answered a few people's direct questions about how they can donate to my troop."

I guess this woman is too dumb to not understand than asking somebody for a donation is asking for money.

I can’t imagine cops, or even other fans would stand for some dude messing around some girls like that.

Unfortunately it does happen. Often the other fans just ignore it as if it isn't there or are laughing or just into the game. Police are rarely around. It's not exclusive to any one college or team either

Other fans laugh when people are sexually harassed at UTEP games? I don't believe that for a second. Since you are at every game, have you done anything to help the situation? And didn't you say you sit on the floor at the games? How do you hear what is said in the stands?

There is police and security all around the venue. I can't go a few feet without seeing them.
