OT: MLB Proposal Would Eliminate 42 Minor League Teams

I don't think this proposed realignment of minor league baseball would affect the El Paso Chihuahuas too much. I don't see any chance El Paso loses its team. We have a modern baseball stadium that exceeds MLB standards. We also have a good working relationship with the Padres, and distance wise aren't that far away from San Diego. If MLB truly wants to go geographical with its farm systems, then the Chihuahuas would most likely be partnered with either the Diamondbacks, Astros or Rangers. And should the Pacific Coast League be reduced from 16 to 10 teams, then the 6 teams that would move to the International League would most likely be Iowa, Omaha, Oklahoma City, Wichita (formerly New Orleans), Memphis and Nashville. This will be something I'll be keeping a close watch on.
