OT: POTUS signs executive order to improve policing in the USA

Let's hear from both sides on why this is good or bad. I personally think it should be helpful but likely will not be seen that way by many since it does not include defunding the police.

This will take years and years of judicial monitoring. The move that gave law enforcement for leverage goes back to 1989 Graham vs. Connor [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graham_v._Connor] which got even more teeth with Mr Clinton siding with conservative dems and GOP agreeing to sign the crime bill which was a disaster from the get go as dems and GOP used it at the polling booth while many were doing serious time for a few ounces of whatever. Supporters still abound for this bill as they bring that one case here, one case there and that recidivism will tear the country apart (these are the same ilk who said Kiss, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and Ozzy were Satan's pawns and the "Downfall of Western Civilization" was coming).

Qualified immunity should be strongly looked at again as well as the continued existence of public sector unions. The unions offer a lot of protections for cops who are detrimental. I'm not a cop so I'm only looking at it through the scope of applicable law.

True reform comes through taking the time to adequately educate and train offers from what is right and wrong as well as all forms of techniques for appropriate actions. All this requires time and money which is counter to the whole defund the police movement.
