I have always thought "ranking systems" were worthless and wondered ...why bother with them?
A few examples:
Texas beat Notre Dame yet Notre Dame has a higher ranking.
ASU Beat TxTech yet Tech has a higher ranking.
Army beat Temple and Rice but they are both ranked higher than Army.
We beat NMSU and they are ranked higher than we are.
I realize it's a cumulative thing with every game considered, but these instances appear to be 180 degrees off. Not one nstance where the winner ended up higher than the loser.
