I say next man up on this staff, play the string out and begin fresh after bowl season. A guy with ties to Texas football is okay by me. The assistant at Arizona - Aych? - should be on the list.

Barry Alvarez did that for Wisconsin's Rose Bowl appearance when Bielema quit to go to Arkansas. Paid himself extra too.

They should ask the players who they want. That might fire this team up a little. That way a guy like Natkin has a chance and that will look good on his coaching resume.

But the safest and easiest choice will be Mason cause he has experience being made head coach during a season. Mason will be the typical boring Stull choice.

I remember that. Nothing will surprise me of what comes out of this. Including Stull thinking he could take over interim head coaching duties.

If you're worried about who the interim coach is going to be, relax. It really doesn't matter. Nick Saban could be the interim coach and this team probably still wouldn't win a game.

Worry more about the replacement.
