I understand the defensive struggle BUT he can still be utilized as a catalyst.

Bring him on strategically and let him warm it up just like Vinny Johnson the Microwave.

Let him come in just to turn up the heat on the offensive end. He could be a guy that comes in just to get a score and to take some of the heat off of Williams.

So he can’t play defense but neither could vila. So what difference does it make if either of them are playing?

Stroud scores more points than Vila in a 3rd of the time. They are both poor shooters, but Vila's FG% is a ridiculous .29% (probably the worst in the country for somebody at his size and minutes played). Stroud is .50%+ because he attacks the rim. Oh and Stroud has more blocks and is good at offensive rebounding too.

Bringing in Vila was a big mistake by Terry. He will likely lose multiple players because of this and he will have to go out and recruit another center (when he already had a few).

How much of a better player would Stroud be today, if he had been given as many minutes this season as Vila has been given? It’s an unknown answer, but I think that everyone wishes that more minutes would have been invested in developing Stroud this year.
