Sorry if I didn't see a thread...

I was impressed with Tartleton State. Tough team with some good players. They had a very well rounded lineup. I wouldn't be surprised if they won the WAC this season.

Kudos to OF3 for winning the game at the line.

I was really hoping Jones would break out a little in this game as he appeared to be the better matchup. That 7th spot off the bench is wide open for the taking. Jones should be falling into place of he expects to start the next few years.

If Golding can keep his job he really needs to sure up the front line next year via the portal. There should be a nice NIL package with all the seniors we are losing.

I agree. When Tarleton State gets back more of their injured players they could be unstoppable in the WAC. They got back a guard for last night's game that is really good. He was a difference maker for them.
It almost looked like the Miners playing themselves last night. Many times when we took it into the paint we got our pocket picked. I hope Golding and the boys watch a lot of tape on this game and figure out how to do the same thing.
Big Ham just can't help himself bringing the ball down in steal territory when he get a pass underneath the basket. Kalu played great and OF3 was amazing. 100% from the line. He's got an odd ritual every time he shoots a FT and it works.
We'll learn a lot from this game. It was a good game and we are lucky to get a win. I think Tarleton was the better team.

I know NET rankings don’t mean much for us anymore. It’s wild to think we moved up two spots after losing to Louisville, yet dropped 24 spots after beating Tarleton St.

Deservedly so! I thought it was an awful awful showing against a Terrible D1 team this year! Wasn’t at all impressed. This is a team that we should’ve beat by at least 20 points! They play hard, but are really bad like really bad! We made them look good. Gotta regroup, cause that want the same team that Gabe Louisville all they could handle!

I didn't watch the Louisville game, but my dad said the same thing.

I thought Tartleton was a tough team. They've played a tough schedule.

We are going to see Jackson State this week. They haven’t played a Home Game yet and are winless. Like Tarleton, they find their program with money games.

Looking ahead, Yale/Akron will be a test but the La Tech game to open conference play will be critical. CUSA is pretty balanced.

Liberty is looking like a legit at large team if they keep it up, but other than that I think United stacks up with anyone if we can put it together finally.

Like Tarleton, they fund their program with money games.

You are mistaken. Tarleton has lots of money and does not need money games to fund their programs. They’re building a new arena and are willing to move up to FBS, but they lack an invite. Not sure why their team plays against so many Power programs, but it’s not to keep their department alive like Jackson St and other HBCUs

Yeah. They have that steady allowance handed down from big brother, A&M.

I didn’t know that. Just going off of what Joe Golding and Jon Teicher said on the Coaches Show.

Maybe it’s because they won 25 games last year, it’s year five for Billy, and they thought they had a legitimate team with a real shot at an at large bid.
3 of those 25 wins were against non-D1 though. 3 or 4 games maybe, but not 6 games. If UTEP wanted a shot at an at-large, I wouldn’t have them schedule 6 roadies against power schools.

Lose a close one on the road at a Power school and you go up in the NET. Beat a shitty team at home and you drop 20+ spots. Gotta work the formula.

Not 6 true road games though. Go 2-4, 1-5, or 0-6 and you’re not getting an at-large anyway.

Go 2-4 and now you got q1 wins. You’ll definitely be in the conversation if you avoid bad losses.
