Tim Anderson and Josh Donaldson

This story about Tim Anderson and Josh Donaldson has been discussed ad nauseum the last 2 days and debated. Anderson called himself Jackie Robinson in a 2019 interview and Donaldson referred to him ad Jackie in a game.

I think Donaldson was being a jerk and a bully. I once worked with a Coach who said he wants to be a head coach in the SEC one day, we started calling him Nick. I do not think in anyway Donaldson was giving a compliment to Anderson. He was talking shit. He was calling him Jackie to piss off Anderson and make fun of the fact that he compares himself to Robinson. Its a dig and an insult.

But is it racist? Because that is what the discussion has become.

I wish, I heard the entire conversation to put everything in context. But what I have heard thus far i agree with your assessment. It appears to be another episode of cheapening racism.

I feel like a lot of people would have mocked Tim Anderson for his Jackie Robinson comment because it is pompous to compare yourself to a guy who shattered social barriers and got tons of crap in the process.
