Right and why was he out last year? Will he be bringing a recruit with him? Is he a defensive guru or will he help the offense? Not much information otherwise.

People actually think I'm joking. I believe and Assistant needs to have at least 10k followers. Look at all of Waldens coaching staff, I believe a lot of them are in the upper 20k followers. That's why they are doing good in recruiting. Walden himself has more followers than the Utep Football. He is more popular than Utep Football.
So that's why Nick Saban retired! Turns out he just couldn't keep up with the TikTok stars of today's coaching scene. Guess he didn't have enough followers to stay relevant!
He got scared , he doesn't like the idea that he not the only one that can pay players. Recruiting is now a even playing field.
I agree that's part of it. I think it just pushed him to retire.
Man. This sure would have been the Tim Floyd era of recruiting.
Every team has walk ons, this cool.fot the kid, but obviously doesn't mean much or impact next year's team. Hope we get our quality 6-7 wing, but chances are dwindling.
So is basketball recruiting done since we are "out of money"? Anybody know if the collectives are trying to help land another transfer? There is still room to improve.
There's got to be someone out there racking up 2-3 points per game who won't break the bank.

I certainly remember our excitement when he came to visit. The list of schools that he took officials to was interesting: Kansas, Kentucky, Saint Louis, and UTEP. Obviously he picked the Wildcats. He was one of several really, really good recruits that Rab was after, but he couldn't close the deal. Had he, it would have been the most talented class in UTEP history.

Well I think it's pretty obvious that Golding is gonna keep the 13th scholarship in his back pocket for a potential transfer. It's too bad there wasn't enough NIL to lure another forward.

He's currently at the end of the bench and is an unpaid NIL guy. Were you expending a lottery pick? Hopefully he's a gem and surprises us.
It's a little odd in that he had 5 other mid majors much closer to home. Could not find much in the way of stats except this from 2022. He was averaging 8 assists per game.

Looks like he played in the lowest division/lowest enrollment level in the state of Ohio, but his school was the #1 ranked team in Cleveland last year and won the state championship (22'-23').

Yes, just fly him in after school every day. From Ohio. And then back after. Should be an easy flight.
