UMass is building a Calipari statue but we still don't have a statue for Haskins at the building that uses his namesake. Still doesn't make sense to me.

UTEP has done alot of things wrongs when it comes to athletics. One of the thing UTEP has done well is memorializing the 66 team and Don Haskins. There doesn't need to be a statue.
How about a hologram in front of the DHC right by Foster/Stevens. Lets join the 21st century. Probably be cheaper too and generate some press. And, it wouldn't get tagged.
Maybe he can be one of the Twelve Travelers. (Have they named all twelve of them?)

Unfortunately I’m sure the university/athletic department have more pressing needs. If this ever happens, it will be because a donor funded it.
The fact that it hasn't already been donor funded is surprising.

I'm sure he didn't want the building named after him but here we are.

Have always said that UTEP should turn the Rudolph parking lot/area next to the DHC into a memorial park/plaza. Add the Bhutanese flavor. I know that the old, original Memorial gym hardcourt flooring is stowed away in a surplus warehouse. Why not repurpose it into park benches or something, rather than hanging it up behind a tarp collecting dust. There are hundreds of old UTEP bball jerseys packed away in a room in the DHC, something could be done with those I figure...hell why not auction them off?
