"Bielema is not the kind of guy who shows much mercy in these kind of games for overmatched opponents and his team is out to prove it can start off on the same level it finished 2014. Establishing Brandon Allen as an All-SEC QB, Alex Collins in the race for leading rusher in the SEC and sorting out a few things on defense are all priorities. Oh and get the win, which with the 1-0 mentality is all that matters. Woo Pig."

However, I do remember this game for 2000 when some little up start from Idaho (just moved up to D-1A as they labeled it back then) almost pulled a major upset on Nutt's hogs. That little upstart now control their own destiny and draws the ire from major conference college football fans. Would be nice if Kug can bring this home along with that fat check.

Hey, got to add this one! I think Coach Kug was a sophomore on that UTEP team

On Oct. 26, 1985, the then-No. 7 ranked Cougars — the defending national champions — fell to lowly, previously winless UTEP, 23-16, in El Paso.

We have upset some good teams here at home but it would be awesome if we could do it on the road and on national TV . GO MINERS!!!!

Bielema may try and be complimentary in public about UTEP, but he's really expecting to crush'em. He's already said he anticipates playing a lot of guys. You only say that if you're confident an easy win is coming.

One last thing of useless trivia. I met him once at a coaching clinic I attended a few years ago. He was still at Wisconsin then. If you thought Nick Saban was arrogant, Coach BB isn't far behind. That's not a news flash cause he's certainly put his foot in his mouth in public before; I only offer that as a way of saying if they get up big, don't expect him to ease up. He might do it out of respect for Kugler, but it won't be by much. He'll want to send a message to his team and their fan base.

According to my research, UTEP played a Bret Bielema lead Wisconsin team in 2012 and came dangerously close to beating them. We had a very physical defense that year but we are probably a better defensive team now than we were then. Offensively...

I know that Golden played in that game: These others may have seen some action as well. They're not unfamiliar with Bielema football.

We all wonder about the qb posistion but we are in better shape than we were in 2012. The qb play in 2012 was the worst in recent history.
