In listening to Dimel at the end of the season, he started to say things like we had the “most passing yards in a single game since 2012” or “we had the most return yards” since some game a long time ago, like he did after the UNT game. Doing something that hasn’t happened in 5 or 10 years appears to be Dimel’s definition of setting a school record.
Two things after reading this article:
1.) In Floyd’s 8th year, he still used to talk about the scholarship issue that he inherited and how that set him back. Now, reading Dimel referencing a similar scholarship thing that he inherited, even though we are entering year 3, is getting old and hopefully doesn’t turn into another Floyd type of situation.
2.) I sincerely hope that Dimel is not one of these types of people who, when something works one time says “see, it works!”. Just because your offense produced a lot of yards in a one game loss against a terrible NMSU defense, is not a vindication that his offense will work and doesn’t need changes/adjustments.
