Dumb Dana Dimel is a loser, you can look at this career record if you’re dumb enough to think his tenure at UTEP is a fluke. There is a reason why he wasn’t a head coach for 15 years - he sucks.

Don’t buy tickets and don’t go the games. If you do, you’re telling Senter that you like this trash and will continue to like it.

Just have to look at the bug picture and try to trust the process. About 30 of the 44 players on the 2-deep charts (offensively and defensively) are returning. Add in somewhere around 20 redshirt freshman and 6 or 7 Juco and/or transfers Dimel gets again and we are looking at almost 60 players to fill in on the 2-deep in which most will have 3-4 years of availability remaining. And right behind those 60 will be another 20 freshman working out while on a redshirt.

These guys didnt break it. You cant push the reset button after 18 games and 1 recruiting class on the field. These coaches are bringing kids into an empty stadium that's under construction, showing off an LKD facility that's 18 years old, a program thats had 3 head coaches and 1 win 25 games, and trying to get them to play in one of the worst conferences in Football. You should have never expected immediate results.

Another big concern here, is that the kids who have been committing most of our Personal Foul Penalties are Dimel’s recruits that Dimel brought in(these are his kids, not Kugler kids):

- Henry, Personal Foul against HBU. Dimel Recruit.
- Ross, Un-sportsman Like Penalty against Nevada. Dimel Recruit.
- Caldwell, Personal Foul at So. Miss. Dimel recruit.
- Ruiz, Personal Foul against UTSA. Dimel recruit.

It's all relative, Rodney Terry won 16% of his conference games last year and people are worried hes going to leave.

All I am saying, is 18 games is not enough for the situation he walked into. I don't know if Dimel is the right guy either, but Its hard to judge knowing what he walked into.

Some coaches on the previous staff were going out on recruiting trips, drinking, and trying to hook up with chicks and not even meeting the recruits they were sent out to talk to.

There’s a difference between the 2-16 that Dimel has had than being 2-16 a different way. If he had blown out HBU by 5 touchdowns and beat UTSA, I think everyone’s outlook would be totally different. While the scores don’t look too bad vs USM and FIU, they weren’t really that close. If he lost on a last second touchdown, questionable ref call, etc, there would be more optimism.

Even the Texas Tech score wasn’t that bad, but the offense is downright horrible and the penalties are out of hand. That’s why people are upset and have given up. You’ll be lucky to see 10k this Saturday.

Even still, if UTEP miraculously beats LaTech on Saturday, some hope and optimism would return. Then, maybe, you would see a few more fans be a little more patient

Aside from losing, what is terribly frustrating is the nightmarish offense that produces very few points on the scoreboard and is terribly predictable and boring to watch. UTEPs offense is currently in the bottom 10 in nearly every statistical category (scoring, total offense, passing) and it is dead last in third down conversion. Good luck selling tickets to a football venue whose only scoring is by the opposing team. UTEPs offense so bad it hasn't been able to effectively throw a forward pass for the last FOUR years.
Now why on earth did Senter decide to hire a guy with such a boring and ineffective offense, especially after what we witnessed from Kugler his last two years? Shame on Jim Senter for not doing his homework and giving us another year of this crap!! He is responsible for this hopeless futility.

Dimel isn't going anywhere anytime soon. However, there will need to be wholesale changes with the assistant coaches. The first name on that list should be Canales.
