Report: UTEP on the precipice of joining the Mountain West

I'm not that smart, but won't the additional revenue from a betit ter conference also help the budget?
It should eventually, but it helps everyone in the league as well. I think UTEP is looking at adding $10-15M to the current budget just to be near the bottom schools in the conference. That is a huge commitment.

Based on the figures linked below (not the latest), UTEP would be at the bottom in terms of athletics budgets in the MWC. This is the area where Wilson needs to make a commitment, and hopefully that was part of the negotiations. The new NIL legislation, in which the schools, pay the athletes has to be taken into account as well.

Pac12 not dead?

Yeah

but the goal is to win national titles and they're already competitive at that level in their current conference. This has hints of UNLV leaving the big west in the 90s and never really getting back to the same national competitive stage.
Didn’t UNLV get hit with probation and Tark left? Few isn’t leaving and they run a clean program. Not the same.

Pac12 not dead?

Yeah
I’m not. It was time for them to stop beating almost all of their WCC opponents by 20 points most nights.
