I wonder if a worst case scenario develops where the MWC stabilizes and they don’t need to add UTEP.Dang. This is getting good. Maybe UTEP does slide into the Pac 12. Half kidding!

I’m sure any of these schools who jumped ship in the last couple of years signed deals with mega penalties. These conferences were left scrambling a couple of years ago, they weren’t going to let it happen a second time.Exit fee was a deterrent I would assume.
Exit fee was a deterrent I would assume.Tried to get away from San Jose and others.
Thought they could get Memphis. I would be pretty upset if I were a Memphis fan. I thought they should have joined.
Tried to get away from San Jose and others. This is backfiring for the PAC 2
Couldn't they have convinced the current MWC to dissolve the conference and then bring 8 of them in?
Really expensive way for them to merge with the MWC as it is now.
I get UTEP and NMSU are not the belles of the ball, but if the Lobos block a move by both schools the MWC then they deserve everything they get. There aren’t very many options that fill the void better than our two schools, especially when it comes to the natural rivalry we have. The Lobos are going to block us from getting into the MW this go round (along with NMSU).
But the PAC 6, in desperation will invite us both.
Then when the ACC explodes (if not soon probably 2031 right?) they'll dump us and we'll end up in the WAC again.
LOL Im only half kidding.
Absolutely…..and it WILL happenInteresting that the school are choosing to stay put, but If the ACC blows up, all hell is going to break again right?
Very strange things happening….We now hold the cards to realignment
And he also had Air Force in the AAC, and Tulane/Memphis in the P12.According to this article, MWC has not reached out to UTEP or NMSU. But, they still predict both of there, along with the popular FCS call ups.
What's at stake as Pac-12, Mountain West and American Athletic Conference plan their futures
The Pac-12's raid of the Mountain West won't be the last move in this round of conference realignmentwww.cbssports.com
Yes, the MWC will need schools. Even if the Pac 12 becomes desperate and adds schools outside the MWC, the MWC currently only has 8 schools. Safety in numbers.Wilson, and AF. Means UTEP to MWC?
