Golding and Coaching Contract

Which is exactly what I have been saying but everyone gets mad at me … and says I’m ridiculous… the more support we have the more power you have… if you have crappy support which Utep has right now that’s what you get … and please don’t tell me we are first in conf USA attendance
Jax St is playing for the title today and finished 2nd in the standings. Their coach doesn’t make half of what Bronzeing does. Their attendance isn’t close to UTEP’s.

Their lowest this year was 1,033 and their high was 3,185. UTEP’s low was 3,989. How does Jax St find ways to win with less fans, less NIL, and a lower paid coach, while UTEP finishes in 8th place?

Golding and Coaching Contract

I think with the lack of news this past week, it's a good indication that Golding will be back next year, meaning next year will be a lost year. Lord forbid he actually received an extension. I am tired of Senter, Golding and their continued mediocrity and plan to give up my season tickets next year. I hate to do that bc I have great seats and am surrounded by other great fans but I can't keep supporting this trash.
I think it was Einstein who said the definition of brilliance is doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results.

The “back to back winning records” are padded by 3 non-D1 wins each of those years. If I wanted to, I would breakdown all his wins, as I would guess most of them are against non-D1 and trash like FIU.
Exactly. Golding is sub .500 against conference opponents. That is the only true measure of the quality of the teams he has fielded. And that's without mentioning the horrendous out of conference losses this team seems to suffer every single year. Golding hasn't even achieved a c grade in his 4 years here, especially if you discount his first year.

OT: Ominous Vibe

USSR/Russia has aggressively attacked VOA & Radio Free Europe for generations and Putin has continued to this very day. Why? They are highly successful. Today Putin won a major victory. Trump signed an order to dismantle them.

There's more:

"The president targeted the U.S. Agency for Global Media, which is the parent company of Voice of America’s (VOA), as well as the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in the Smithsonian Institution, which is a think tank, and the Institute of Museum and Library Services, which is an agency that supports libraries, archives and museums in every state.

He also dismantled the United States Interagency Council on Homelessness, which aims to prevent and end homelessness in the U.S., the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service, which focuses on preventing, minimizing, and resolving work stoppages and labor disputes, the Community Development Financial Institutions Fund, which aims to expand economic opportunity for underserved communities, and the Minority Business Development Agency, which promotes growth of minority-owned businesses."

Golding and Coaching Contract

Facts fellow Miner Fans and myself have to face. Golding wasn’t going to get fired with back to back winning records. We had hoped this year would be the year and the 7 game losing streak and blow out by Liberty killed that hope. Either way Golding was not in jeopardy of losing his job sorry to say as much as we wanted it to happen. I don’t know how the extension will look or if this will be a lame duck year or what. I’ve heard the rumors that I’ve mentioned, but the only thing I believe is that he’ll be here next year and am starting to accept it. There’d have to be a drastic upgrade in talent via transfers for me to get any hope. Texas Tech turned over a whole team after Beard and was good the next year, but Utep and Golding haven’t showed us anything remotely close to have those hopes so I get the apathy!

CJG's future...

Unfortunately Bad News at least from what I’m hearing.
Golding talking Athletic Department and changes being made to contract, but I’d be surprised he’s let go. More likely changes to staff and attempting to bring a possible recruiting assistant who can bring a quality player with him or something like that. Also talks about needed NIL Money which and How Joe can assist drumming up business like Walden has tried. It sounds like it’s more of a “ We got the right guy in place, let’s work together to right the ship before MWC” kind of discussions! Smh 🤦🏽 Not giving my opinion or do I want Golding to stay, but it’s not looking good for those of us who want him fired!
That's all fine and dandy, but why with one trick pony Golding!?

I liked having Barbee as coach. I thought he was solid all the way around. I do think his recruiting "ability" was skewed, though. I think he recruited well to UTEP because of his ties to Memphis. It is my opinion that his recruiting was sub par at his next couple of stops as head coach, because his Memphis pipeline had dried up. Just my .02 worth.
One of there reasons he should have stayed.

Don’t worry. There will be plenty of other great seats available if and when you decide to come back.
