The correct statement is, “I couldn’t care less.” I see this said incorrectly a lot.
How did the UTEP end of things go?I went to tonight’s show and I like Coldplay, I don’t know all the songs. But that was phenomenal. They really delivered
Well, we know that $40 parking tag beefed up UTEP’s NIL coop. How did the UTEP end of things go?
I flipped my two tickets for a nice profit months ago. Made about 400 bucks.Tickets as low as $50 on TickPick. Some people thought they were gonna make a big profit
I finally corrected. That is how much I watched this thread.🤣The correct statement is, “I couldn’t care less.” I see this said incorrectly a lot.

In order for me to vote for this, I would need to see the acts that were willing/wanted to come here, but the Sun Bowl wasn’t suitable for their acts. Coldplay, who didn’t visit many other cities in the US found it suitable, but UTEP is telling us it’s not.UTEP and County officials could ride the high off this and start the Sun Bowl improvement chatter again. I still think it would be lipstick on a pig, but they’ve given a lot of folks a reminder and tease to what is possible.
Also, chalk this one up as one of the big generational Sun Bowl shows like U2, Rolling Stones, and the boy bands. Seemed like a lot of ex-El Pasoans went back home for this. Great for the city.

What did I say that was negative Mr Retard?Do you have to hate on everything El Paso does? Im not a Coldplay fan but it did look awesome on video. The Sun Bowl was packed and it gave El Paso some good pub. Maybe more bigger acts will come now??? Im not a fan but maybe Beyonce could next next or Taylor Swift??
You don't think El Paso could host big acts and that nobody wants to come to El Paso. 🤨🤨🤨What did I say that was negative Mr Retard?
Not at all what I said. EPCC has many low cost, adult education classes. I suggest you look into one. You might get a folder with pretty colors on it!You don't think El Paso could host big acts and that nobody wants to come to El Paso. 🤨🤨🤨
So anyone know what hotel Coldplay stayed at? Or maybe they stayed at Airbnb?
Great show and overall great experience. Very glad I went. The Sun Bowl is not equipped for a show like this though--insanity to have two entrances/exits for that many people (I attended U2 and Pink Floyd there in the 90s and don't remember it being such a cluster). My biggest gripe is aimed at the city though--with both UTEP and the city touting separate rideshare hubs, ubering seemed like at least an ok option. Would have been great if I managed to snag one of the ubers already in the immediate vicinity after the show let out, but they had Mesa blocked off all the way down to Executive Center. So, the uber I had no problem confirming had to wait for me to walk to him at the exec center Circle K.
Are you talking about the end zones and sidelines, is it not from inadequate field drainage going back 60 years.event management is terrible at the Sun Bowl, I go back for every home opener, and it's always the same. UTEP really needs to find a way to do improvements on infrastructure. They used to paint the blue floor endzone areas, but now they seem to have stopped that. They look faded and very crumbly. I know UTEP had a bid out for a covering of the turf, that could sustain driving on top of. Maybe that's why they are not maintaining it right now.
Trying to get a rideshare after events are always horrible regardless of where you are.Great show and overall great experience. Very glad I went. Now…. Do you think that we should pay for improvements to the Sun Bowl? Personally I hate that we don’t have a quality arena for events. Stadium shows are few and far between, and so I think we’d get more use out of an arena. Plus I’m not a fan of baking out in the sun. But alas…. that arena ship has sailed.Great show and overall great experience. Very glad I went. Yeah, El Paso isn’t in a real good situation. The downtown arena is dead and buried, and even if it were built or close to it, it wouldn’t be close to the size of an NBA/NHL arenas that get top tier shows. It would already be outdated and unable to bring in those acts.Now…. Do you think that we should pay for improvements to the Sun Bowl? Personally I hate that we don’t have a quality arena for events. The Sun Bowl is fine, but attending outdoor concerts there in the summer months is less than ideal.
I am skeptical of the outdoor concert venue in the NE, until it’s completed and who the first couple of acts are. We might not need an arena if this thing can bring good acts.
I think that there are too few legit stadium acts touring, and there are so many state of the art NFL stadiums that El Paso will rarely if ever be considered. If you look at what these new stadiums offer its not just lighting and screens, they’re domed, and they have suites and hospitality areas which make them more attractive and economically viable compared to a college stadium. The arena could have been a game changer. The Sun Bowl is suitable. The weather was phenominal once Coldplay hit the stage. You can just skip the opening acts if the heat is too much for you.
It sucks to always be negative. I promise you that those suites will be sold. You are going to complain whoever comes here for concerts and will say those musucal acts aren't "good" enough.
