Losing record last year but won the MVC the year before. Could be a good team.
Never heard of it related to basketball but Turner Classic Movies puts on a best of the worst movies and calls it the Golden Turkey Classics.
Except for the Aggie game in the Don, attendance for ooc games is going to suck. Maybe the opener due to curiosity will have decent attendance.
Awful schedule for the home fans. Falls inline with Senter. More expensive tickets, same or worse schedule. 2 D2 teams - like other CUSA teams. Shows no ambition and UTEP/Senter are fine with ripping off season ticket holders with boring, uncompetitive games.
The Sun Bowl tournament is one of their better ones in years. NC Central is the best MEAC out there and they have a pretty good documentary series on ESPN+ if you’re interested. Sam Houston finished 3rd in the SLC last year and are now in the WAC. Bradley is a perfectly acceptable Tournament team. From the MVC, not a bottom dweller, and has a little history versus UTEP.
Not really a tournament since we’re playing at Pacific as part of the same tournament and there’s no bracket with pre-determined matchups. Also, nobody has ever heard of it.
I think it's called an MTE or muli team event. A bunch of those have popped up and I assume it's desirable if you think your team is not ready for prime time.

That 2nd game at NMSU could be pretty telling. I think our defense will be better, but If we can't score outside of Boum then we will be in big trouble.
It's not great for the fans but it's set up to win ooc games. Sub those 2 D2 games for a road P6 team and h/a G5 team and we could potentially be starting 2-7. Doesn't build much confidence in the new coach.

Wouldn’t put it past Senter, but the NMSU game will for sure be. Even though fans like @utep2step claim superiority over NMSU, the AD charges UTEP fans more to watch NMSU play. Hilarious.
I bought because I like the Golding hire. I also think a gradual ramp is about right for this team.

Probably for the same reason we should play Western New Mexico in Horizon. The change of venue will give program some extra money/fans by moving a game season ticket holders could care less about.

I don't think that's the reason. They play one home game per year there. Likely a contract to give their KC area fans a closer game. The last few years they've had NMSU, Davidson and Washington there. Besides, UTEP gave them a scare last year and holds the series 3-2.
