so 30 FCS schools called Judy? Lets try and guess the 30??
o does anyone with the inside scoop have the list of the 30 schools that called??

on the CUSA board someone mentioned Kennesaw ST and I think Jackson St showed interest.
Can a HBCU school move up? Would they leave the SWAC?

Why don't you guess them for us?

I will guess
3 Texas Schools
SHSU
Tarleton St
Stephen FAustin

2 Dakota schools
NDSU
SDSU

10 south eastern schools
Jackson St
Jacksonville ST
Kenneshaw St
E Kentucky

10 midwest/NE schools
UMASS
UCONN
Missouri St

5 western schools
NMSU
GCU

That's 14
Need 16 more

UMass, UConn and NMSU don't count, they're already FBS. Missouri St. apparently declined. If in fact M. Tennessee and W. Kentucky are gone I'd love to see the Dakota or Montana schools. However I don't know if CUSA goes more west so my guess would be 2 or 3 out of these 10
Kennesaw St.
NC A&T
SC St.
Tarleton St.
SFA
McNeese St
E. Tennessee St.
Northern Iowa
Jackson St.
Norfolk St.

Technically the article never said FCS schools. So maybe UMASS, UCONN and NMSU are part of that list.

"Sources tell CBS Sports that Conference USA commissioner Judy MacLeod has received calls from up to 30 prospective members to fill that eighth spot."

Northern Iowa would be good . I think CUSA does expand west and there will be a west division and a east division. Maybe not now but in the next changes. It make sense now that maybe NMSU is in. But looking at the Top 25 here are teams that are ranked in the west.

#5 Eastern Washington
#7 UC Davis
#22 Sac State

West Division
Utep
NMSU
E Wash
UC Davis
Sac State
Montana
Montana St
GCU Basketball only

East Division
North Dakota State
South Dakota State
La Tech
Sam Houston St
FIU
Liberty
Jacksonville St
Northern Iowa

Jesus, are you mapping out Conference USA or The Roman Empire? You want to add a school from Alaska and Hawaii just so you can drive home the “USA” in Conference USA?

Adding 30 teams at 2 million a pop is larger than their TV. Be a buyer and seller league.
There's the solution we've been searching for. With all the exit/entrance fees

IPF ✅
State of the Art Athletic Facility ✅
New Locker Rooms ✅
Renovate Don Haskins ✅

What else do we need to do?

Really glad you mentioned Kennesaw State. They have 41k enrolled, are in an Atlanta suburb which would be great for recruiting and to have a footprint in another media market

Comfortable seats in the Sun Bowl!
Also, figure out how to use some of the money to make more money. Not sure how to do that, but....

Glad you mentioned Kennesaw St. 41k students, had 4,000 at their last home game in a 8,000 stadium AND they’re in the Top 25. Pass

That game has no bearing on UTEP not getting in the Mountain West.
Kennesaw's last home game has no bearing into getting into CUSA.

I don't know why you keep saying everyone's attendance. Last night I showed you we averaged 9k actual tickets scanned and plenty of other G5 teams have similar numbers. Who gives a damn.

They have a .762 winning percentage. That's all I care about.

You’re right, it doesn’t. As a fan of UTEP/CUSA is adding schools who can’t get 5,000 to a football game, while they’re having a good season, in the Top 25, and have 41,000 students seem like a good addition to you?

You used one freaking game. Why not use examples of when they sold out the stadium?

I'm not the FCS expert. All I know is attendance is not something UTEP fans should be using when we've had similar attendance to those programs you mock.

Actually nevermind on Kennesaw St. Their ambitions are too big and will probably leave us behind.

They have 43k students and apparently they approved an $100 per semester athletic fee.

They have a 144 page master plan to expand and improve their facilities.

Yeah definitely don't want to be associated with a winning football program that has high aspirations.

Let's see if we can find a shitty football program with zero plans to improve.

4.3mil in immediate athletic revenue is an insane stat. They’ll be one to watch next alignment, assuming they don’t make a move this time around

Well Played!

That's how they started a successful football program from scratch. In their seven years of existance they've never had a losing season. An overall record of 53-16.

Those master plans they have are nice. I like their stadium. It's a Soccer Specific stadium. Those are designed to be easily expandable and are loud asf.

I've definitely kept my eye on Kennesaw St. and it's a fast growing University in a major metro area, CUSA could do alot worse! Keep W. Kentucky/M. Tennessee and CUSA comes out smelling ok at least.

I am not “mocking” them. All facts. Do you think they would be a good addition to CUSA or not?

Throw in some eager beaver NAIA schools wanting to ask what the minimum entry requirements are. Just because 30 called doesn't mean 30 programs are ready to make the jump.

Because they literally sold out their stadium one game prior to the one you used. UTEP hasn't sold out a game in over 15 years and if we don't sell out Saturday I know if we ever will again.

Yes they would be a good add. Any team with an all time winning percentage over .700 shows their true potential. Add in their student body size, master plans in place and the fact their budget is already at the level of some FBS schools and it's an absolutely a no brainer. At least compared to some of the other names that had been mentioned.

Unlike you I actually research a school and not just look at their last home game before throwing out an uneducated response just to shit on someone's suggestion.

Did you look at their basketball program? The men’s program is terrible. The women’s program is bad. You only look at football and because they have a power point presentation, they have ambition.

They belong in FCS. They are not FBS caliber.

Holy smokes Batman! You all are huge! 37,400 as of fall 2020. Damn.

That’s where they are though. That’s like living in El Paso and say you don’t go to Chihuahuas games because it’s not MLB.

I really doubt the KSU fans are going to start selling out their stadium when UTEP, NMSU, and FIU come to town.

Funny that you never mentioned any of that when replying to bamfor. Goes to show your moving the goal posts and making it up as you go..

Where's our master plan? What is Senter's plan to improve facilities and move forward?

Football drives realignment. Our programs sucks and that's why we belong in the bottom of the barrel FBS conference with teams like SHSU, Jacksonville St, and Kennesaw St. We're not MW or AAC material.

I don’t believe he said they would be a good addition to CUSA like you did. Only for recruiting and market. He probably didn’t look at anything else besides their location and enrollment. Probably couldn’t tell you their mascot without looking it up.

If we’re not MWC or AAC material, we don’t need a master plan.

And it's obvious you didn't look at anything else besides their last home game and their stadium capacity before saying "pass" to his reply.

Once again chicken and egg argument. If we had a master plan, achieved some of the projects in the master plan, then we would be MW material.

Keep trying to justify why you like to randomly shit on people's suggestions with cherry picked "facts" when you yourself don't take the time to research and make an educated reply.

UTEP isn’t MWC material because El Paso is not a good media market and there’s no recruits here. You can blame attendance and no master plan all you want. The MWC took San Jose St who got 10k for football and 500 for basketball. What facility improvements has SJSU made in the 8 years they’ve been in the MWC? If UTEP built an IPF, you think the MWC is going to come calling? Of course not.

Day it broke ground

I'll add the completed project when it's finished....
