Is the MWC adding UTEP if they built an IPF?
It's gonna take more than a simple ipf now.

That's a good start.

UTEP needs good football and basketball programs, strong attendance, and a state of the art athletic building.

Those factors will show our commitment to winning and even out the factors that are out of our control. Location, TV market, recruiting, etc...

If the majority of UTEP fans think like you it's no wonder we are where we are.

Improving the student athlete experience should be another top priority. Better dorms, better rec spaces on campus, better nutrition, better uniforms...

I don’t remember when you got here, but I have been one of the realists here. So I’m not in the majority. It’s gotta be something else then.

What's realist? Keep doing the same thing as always, nothing. Blame our location and losing for no one wanting us. Then complain about the FCS call ups in our conference that replaced the former FCS who moved on to better places.

Not many people want to contribute to losing programs. Even San Jose St has won 11 games in a season, bowl games, etc. Last year they won the MWC with players that will never play with that new addition to their stadium. I don’t know of any recruits that commit because of things that will be used by future recruits.

UTEP basketball has underperformed for 10 years. What’s the problem with UTEP basketball? What more does that team need? They have a new practice facility. They’re always getting a new floor or whatever. Why do they suck? It’s not the lack of facilities or money.

San Jose St has had 3 winning seasons in the last 20 years. They started the funding for their athletic facilities during a 1-11 season and seven years after their 11 win season. In those seven years in between they had zero winning seasons. Fans and donors that want to see their team succeed will contribute to losing programs.

As far as basketball. Busted coaching hires. It happens.

They can always point to a recent 11 win season though. And their stadium is 88 years old. Fans here are willing to extend a coach for winning 8 games.

So basically, it’s the coaches and players that contribute to success and not facilities? If UTEP has good facilities in basketball, they should be successful. At least that’s what you’re saying when it comes to football.

They sure can point to that one 11 win season cuz fans from other teams focus on the few positives instead of the 120 losses they've had recently.

Basketball and football are too different sports. It's apples and oranges.

Sure we can continue to do nothing and we'll eventually get lucky and have a flash in the pan season here and there. If you want continued success, better coaches to apply, and better recruits to commit, our formula has never worked and it never will. History has proven that.

It's a nutrition station so other than protein loaded snacks and drinks probably not much to see. I hope it's worthwhile.
Nutrition stations are a pretty big deal. More to it than the obvious nutrition, protein, and healthier options of food. For many athletes across all sports. Days consist of class, workouts, practices, film study, team meetings, tutoring and study hall and more. This is a way for athletes to grab a meal on the go when often times they don’t have other options do to time restraints. Nutrition stations have been a good thing for many universities across the country. It’s good that UTEP has created this.

I still remember when Culpepper would cramp up because he was only eating one granola bar a day. Giving immediate access to nutritious food is a great step
