Anyone With Espn Insider?

Yes. He is included. The article to paraphrase says that the kid averaged 14.2 points per game and 9.2 rebounds. But because UTEP didn't win CUSA or make the tournament no one really learned who he was. They describe him as long and athletic but again without a jump shot it will be tough to get a guaranteed contract.

He has a lot of potential. Maybe an NBA team will see him as a project with a high ceiling and take the chance.

Vince will play in the NBA is just a matter of time. He might be in the D league the upcoming year.

Well, we've been saying all along that he needs another year to develop. So I don't see the benefit of spending a year in the D League, when he could have spent that year at UTEP to improve his draft status or he could go to Europe and make a good salary. The worst thing would be for him to not be drafted in the first round and then be relegated to the D League.

"So instead of going to the University of Texas and playing basketball in front of 16,540 fans for free education and an option to go to the NBA after a year, they should go play for the Austin Toros of the D-League for an annual salary of $20,000 and play in front a maximum on 8,500?"

Almost-NBA Players Take Home Paltry Salaries

If someone is advising Vince to go pro now to the D-League, that's bad advice. Not only will he miss out on being drafted in the first round with a guaranteed contract, but he'll also miss out on playing Euroball with a pretty good salary. And if he develops and proves himself in Euroball, he can still play in the NBA like Antonio Davis. Vince would have to take a second job while in the D-League to support himself. And most D-League players DO NOT GET CALLED UP.

If you're reading this, Vince (and I doubt you are), don't settle for the D-League. If you're sure college isn't for you and you don't get drafted in the first round, go to Europe to develop.
