I heard from a reliable source that basketball tickets are going up and the prices for each game will fluctuate.

Our first clue was the mini plans they announced the other day. 5 games - starting at $44. I believe last year, the cheapest ticket was $8.

Apparently the tickets in row 35-38 for the NMSU and UNM games will be $18. LaTech, UAB, WKU and Marshall will cost $16. Southern Miss, MTSU, UTSA, and the 2 CUSA bonus games will cost $14. Pine Bluff and the 3 D2 games will start at $10.

Paying $18 for the worst seats in the house for NMSU is highway robbery and another way to cheat the fans. UTEP should have all their tickets $5 for Pine Bluff and the D2 games. Senter needs to get a grip on reality if these prices are true

This is the problem with El Paso, you want a good product, but don't wanna pay for a good product?

How the hell is UTEP supposed to make money when no one shows up for football?

Not an issue, UTEP needs our help and basketball is the better product without them even playing a single minute. Let's quit complaining and support our athletic programs.

Exactly. El Paso has an unrealistic attitude towards things like this. People want big city product and entertainment, but don't want to shell out more than $40 for the whole family to enjoy it

What games are a good product? There’s no Duke or Arizona St game on the schedule. The cheapest ticket for NMSU is $18. That’s $10 more than last year! More than double to see a team we have lost to 10 times in a row or whatever. And they’re just NMSU, whom we have seen every year since the beginning of time.

Big city product and entertainment is a CUSA basketball game featuring UTEP vs LaTech?

The product is UTEP. I don't buy tickets to see who we are playing, I go to the games to support UTEP and our roster is upgraded which excites me so I will support our product regardless of price until complaining is warranted. This isn't Tim Floyd ball anymore, give RT a chance and support the god damn program regardless of who we are playing.

that’s not the point. Charging over 125% more for NMSU tickets when the team won 8 games last year is not ticket buyer friendly. Especially when your best home games are NMSU and UNM

I get what you're saying, but at the end of the day it's a business, UTEP has taken huge losses the past two home games in football and are gonna average less than 10k the rest of the way, they are hoping basketball can make some coin imo, can't blame them. Gotta make money somehow brother...

For sure, but raising prices because the football team sucks, ain’t it brother. Especially when the basketball team is coming off an 8 win season and hasn’t made the NCAAs since 2010. Not like they’re Top 25 and conference champions

Another way UTEP is attempting to make additional revenue due to the low attendance at football games is advertisements. Anyone noticed lately at the Sun Bowl the ribbon boards are no longer displaying game information, such as score, down and distance, time, etc? They're all displaying ads now throughout the entire game. Fans (what few are still attending) are now forced to get that game information from the replay board at the end zone. But depending on how far you sit, and how well your eye sight is nowadays, it's difficult to read. Not very fan friendly Mr. Senter.

You probably live at home with your parents — just tell them you have a date and they’ll give you the $.
