AbsolutelyThat’s crazy
Absolutely
Let’s not even entertain the fact he would play for us.
The fact he paid a visit is absolutely insane and would’ve never happened before with any highly rated recruit.
Now if we can add some competent play calling behind it….😒
Worked out well for Tyler Ebell. I remember a game where Rouse went off and looked unguardable. Unfortunately he was an idiotLast 5 star players to come to utep was Fred Rouse. That did not work out. I'd be interested to know why he hasn't succeeded thus far (especially at Boise).
Boise has a really good QB right now. Last season USC had the Heisman trophy winner. Let’s cut him some slackSeveral months ago I read an article where people related what happened to their high school valedictorian. In some cases the valedictorians went on to become very successful. Some were complete busts. The valedictorian title meant something in high school, meant something when applying to colleges, but after getting into college it was what they did there that counted.
The same goes for 5 star athletes. Those stars have given Nelson his opportunities. He has yet to do anything with those opportunities so far. Hopefully for him he was just in the wrong situations at USC and Boise State, and at his next stop he will finally show the promise people saw in him. Or maybe he just peaked early. Only time will tell.
Like I said maybe it's just that he hasn't been in the right situation yet. We'll see at his next stop.Boise has a really good QB right now. Last season USC had the Heisman trophy winner. Let’s cut him some slack

Ebell was the top RB in California and Thomas in Arizona. Both stud transfers that the great Mike Price gave usEbell was a 5 star? He did work out. He and Thomas.
At USC Nelson was competing against Caleb Williams, who was one of the top QBs in college football. Nelson did get beat out by a 3 star QB at BSU. Not sure how it unfolded. Again, let’s wait and see if Nelson ends up at UTEP before we start projecting next year’s QB.He doesn't even need to be great. If he's good or even above average he'll be serviceable for us. In USC he was competing with other 4 and 5 star guys for PT. At Boise, he was competing for high 3 star and and low 4 star guys for PT. Here he probably doesn't have a lot of competition. Our QB play wasn't amazing this year.
Caleb was THE Top QB in the country and the top pick in the draft. The QB at Boise Maddux has been outstanding this season.
