Ugh. Is this why beach volleyball was added? Planned to replace tennis because it cheaper and easier to build facilities for it? (I think tennis played/practiced at the EP Tennis Center)
Come on now. 99.99% of UTEP fans never cared or could name any player or coach on this tennis team.Even with NIL money, UTEP athletics is still broke AF. And Joe Golding remains the only person left in the BB program. Nothing about new recruits, transfer signees. Nothing, absolutely nothing! Sad times in Miner land.
Raising ticket prices
Like most of the other teams, they suck.Didn’t even know we had women’s tennis.
I read about the rifle, softball , soccer, basketball and volleyball teams. Haven’t heard anything about tennis.
The UTEP way. Would any of us expect anything different?Like most of the other teams, they suck.
Just be thankful they perform for us!The UTEP way. Would any of us expect anything different?

Please buy season tickets and donate to one of the 13 NIL campaigns too! Best bang for your buck!
I've never attended a tennis match of any level.Has anyone here ever attended a UTEP women's tennis match ?
The men's tennis program was dismissed in the '90s under Natalicio and Hovious.Another great Jim Senter accomplishment. First program we lose in 25 years.
Also not having an indoor facility especially with the spring winds didn't help either. This probably came down to the fact that utep does not have any of its own tennis facilities. They lost both set of tennis courts in the campus expansion over the last 20 years. Theyve had to rent use of the El Paso Tennis and swim club facilities since then and it was probably the easiest thing to chop. Golf was probably eyed as well for the same reason.

Yes, several times. And my dad and others regularly attended matches.Has anyone here ever attended a UTEP women's tennis match ?

Nope. But what sucks is I can't make fun of NMSU for being a land grant college and ironically dropping women's equestrian sports to save the football program. Senter just pulled a UTEP pendejada! Ugh!Has anyone here ever attended a UTEP women's tennis match ?
I believe the minimum number of sports in FBS is 16 teams, which UTEP is now at.No, I haven't attended tennis matches but it is sad whenever we lose a sport. I wonder if this is the first of other cuts.
Yeah it sucks that people are losing jobs and students are losing opportunities, but let’s be honest here, nobody really gave a rip about this program. No, I haven't attended tennis matches but it is sad whenever we lose a sport.

Senter is hoping and praying UTEP doesn’t lose to Utah St and/or Mr 5* doesn’t look like trash or else it will be a sparse crowd for UT-Martin.Senter is preparing for the financial shortfall resulting from next season’s basketball disaster. He’s no idiot. It’s obvious to him and anyone else who follows that awful athletic department that Golding is a piss poor coach and recruiter who will tank the program and finish at the bottom of next season’s basketball standings. Very few will buy tickets for a loser, and that is what utep basketball has become. Losing = utep=no money =no tennis.
Fire Senter
Fire Golding
Stan? Welcome back! They are doing this in response to the House v NCAA settlement. Part of that settlement increases the number of scholarships a program can offer. Beach volleyball went from a max of 6 scholarships to 19. Football went from 85 10 105. The tennis team was not very competitive in recent years, which shouldn't have been the case, IMO. The big impact is that the NCAA at the division one level is reducing/eliminating the ability to have walk ons. In essence, all athletes will now be receiving scholarships. In UTEPS case it will mean fully scholarships at the maximum level in order to compete in the MWC. I still believe they didn't have to cut tennis.

I will answer my own question again .Did women's tennis win anything in the 40 years it's been around? Any good players go pro??
ive heard the astronomical cost of tennis balls put the women’s tennis team out of business, so please don’t blame jimmy senter (enable sarcasm detector)The UTEP way. Would any of us expect anything different?
