i think Golding returns for one more year and he accomplishes nothing, 10 wins max forcing Wilson to fire Senter
Bronzeing’s best season was with Terry’s players. Imagine how bad season one would have been without Souley Boum. He doesn’t have a CUSA title game to brainwash fans like he did last year. No way Senter can bring him back.
I think he gets fired. How can you possibly bring back a coach that has finished below .500 in conference play three straight years??? IMO, Senter doesn’t have much of a choice. He didn’t keep Dimel for his final year of his contract.
We are all hoping he is gonna be gone but with our incompetent, always satisfied, rewards participant trophy athletic director, Golding will be back. Season tickets will decrease significantly and so will attendance. Maybe they will speak loud enough to our AD and President.
That’s what you think, but UTEP has about 3,500 season tickets already. I would guess like 95% of them don’t give a shit about wins and losses. These people have shown time and time again that winning is secondary. It’s been 10 years since UTEP has had a good team and even then, they weren’t even that good.
My dad and I aren’t renewing ours. That’s six season ticket renewals+donations that are being cancelled if he’s still coach. At $800+ per seat for the season tickets, it’s tough to justify the expense when the performance on the court is so bad.
That’s good if you follow through with it. Need like 1,000 more seats for it to make a difference.
My four season tickets will also be canceled.

I voted Joe as a goner because that's what needs to happen. But it's UTEP, so i wouldn't be surprised by an extension.

Fili you’re on to something if he does get canned. I remember an interview late in the season where he named dropped Chris Beard and said he spoke to him frequently. I could see CJG join Beard at Ole Miss.
The longer we go without hearing anything, the more likely it is B or C. No need to prolong the process if Senter knows he's letting him go. I've had a bad feeling all along that we're stuck with the guy at least another year. Lawd help us if it's 2 more.
Pretty sure you’re right. I understand waiting until the team is back in EP but at this point the silence is deafening. The announcement should have been yesterday after the team got back and if it doesn’t happen today, it’s obvious he’s staying.

More likely changes to staff and attempting to bring a possible recruiting assistant who can bring a quality player with him or something like that. Also talks about needed NIL Money which and How Joe can assist drumming up business like Walden has tried. It sounds like it’s more of a “ We got the right guy in place, let’s work together to right the ship before MWC” kind of discussions! Smh 🤦🏽 Not giving my opinion or do I want Golding to stay, but it’s not looking good for those of us who want him fired!

UTEP should fire him. Nothing personal but the results speak for themselves. Don’t wait another year for the agony to repeat itself. Negotiate a fair number, get him out and bring someone new in.

Obviously I don’t know what the finances are, but why spend money bringing in a recruiting guy, especially when you’re going to have to give him a multi year deal when Golding is a lame duck coach? You’re still going to have to buy that coach out once Golding is canned at the end of next year. Why prolong the agony?
Worst case scenario is Golding starts losing, the fan base gets REALLY mad and call for Golding to get the axe. Now we throw next year in the dumpster too. Take the L now and move on.

It looks to me like Senter did indeed offer Golding that contract extension in December and this assistant coach overhaul is damage control from Senter to shift the attention from him looking like an incompetent moron.
Because in my scenario Golding wouldn’t be a lame duck coach, he’d be getting a renegotiated 2 or 3 year extension. I know that’s not what you wanted to hear. I hope it’s not true or Golding leaves on his own.

Serious questions need to be asked if Golding gets extended. By what metric has he justified his job? Attendance is trash, hasn’t won a conference title, hasn’t made the NCAA or NIT. There is 0 reason to do this. Give me a lame duck Golding over 3 more years of this mediocre nonsense.
If he does get the rumored extension, it will be a disaster. I hope the season ticket holders that claim they were out, actually get out.

I know these are rumors but Senter needs to go if this happens. I was a big fan of his at the beginning but that man has gone full Howard Hughes.
It just tells you how incompetent Senter is. Offering a contract during the season, in which they still had actually accomplished nothing. Beating Yale, losing closely to Louisville, and fans selling out the NMSU game is apparently the bar at Senter’s UTEP.
