TeamRankings has us finishing at 9-9 and 6th in the conference. I’m going to say we finish 3rd behind Liberty and LaTech with 12-6 solely based on our solid D and ability to score off TO’s.

Sounds about right. Maybe 11-7. And WKU may sneak in there somewhere.TeamRankings has us finishing at 9-9 and 6th in the conference. I’m going to say we finish 3rd behind Liberty and LaTech with 12-6 solely based on our solid D and ability to score off TO’s.

Thanks for the heads up…This was already discussed here: https://utep.forums.rivals.com/thre...s-for-mens-basketball-after-pre-season.12959/
It’s an accomplishment at least. Something tangible. Obviously in a 1 bid league, winning the tournament is tops.Do conference standings really matter at the end? I rather win conference tournament than finish 1st in conference standings.
We get to hang a banner for it and celebrate being champions. In the old WAC it was good for an NCAA at-large bid, and until very recently it was at least good for an automatic NIT bid. It's a shame they took that away; the conference champions deserve some kind of reward. It’s an accomplishment at least. Something tangible. UTEP has only won 2 league titles since 1992.
I'd say 9-9, but 12-6 would be great.I say we’re going to finish 12-6 too. Somewhere in the top 3. Maybe a 3 way tie for first.
Bynum seems to be prone to foul trouble and has fouled out in some games. Golding might be keeping him on the bench to have at the end of games. But, there have been times when he could have been in games at the end but wasn't. So, I dunno!I’ll say 12-6 or better if Golding plays Bynum more than he is now, otherwise it could be 9-9.
