Curse of '66

Our current losing streak and be traced back to none other than our championship of 66. The story goes a well known reputed gambler GG Biggums of New Orleans bet heavy on Kentucky to win the national championship. After losing everything after the outcome, he placed a curse on Texas Western College. The details of the entire curse are not fully known but it was something to the effect that "Texas Western will never win another basketball game". Of course we continued to win many years after our championship but we did it as Texas Western University and then as UTEP. However the curse can be enacted by evoking the TWC name. If you consider that our current losing streak started when the El Paso TIMES begin running stories on each win in from the 66 season. We have a 0-6 record when we wear the "Texas Western" throw back jerseys. Now as in 1966 we have a player named Artis on the roster, and we have never beat another team from Kentucky (Murrey State and WKU last year). I don't claim to know a lot about curses but I do know they have a compounding effect and can be brought back by delving into to much history, which I think we have done this season. Never mess with curses or mother nature.

We started 6-0 but have now lost five in a row. With a loss tonight we would drown to 6-6 on the year. It's Floyd's special way of commemorating the 1966 national championship game.

You are right...way to much here to be just a coincidence

"75 let's see, John Saffle, Gary Brewster, Jake Poole, Ron Jones, Frank Keaton, Roy Dishroom, Ed Alvarez and Beto Bautista. No connection to the curse of 66, looks like it will be lifted.
