If the rumors are true, Don Yanowsky will be joining the Miner coaching staff after going to Canada's Grey Cup with the Ottowa Redblacks this past season. Yanowsky served as the Redblacks Special Teams coach there. He recently left for "personal reasons". Whenever anyone leaves any job for "personal reasons", it always sends a chill up my spine. Hopefully it was just too damn cold for him up there.

Im confident he's on the staff. Minerfaithful's info so far has been spot on. Nobody could have come up with his name, hes been in the cfl for four years. We need a special teams coordinator. Hopefully we've added a coaching posistion and Yanowsky is the special teams coordinator. The qb being recruited out of Memphis bow makes sense thats Yanowsks territory. He was the recruiting coordinator at LSU and Memphis.

I might know the DC's name by Friday....I heard he is waiting to see if he will remain in the "Pros" or not............

Rob Ryan then?? His dad coached the Miners.

Even though Peyton is sticking with the Saints, I expect there will be deep cuts on the defensive coaching staff. Still, Brian Young has persisted there despite past coaching changes. Be interesting to see.

Brian Young as the new DC? That'd be awesome. Is he experienced enough to take over the reigns as a Division I DC? I think so. He's currently the linebackers coach (and has been since 2011) under Sean Payton in New Orleans. He was an intern there for two years prior to that. Kugler knows him well. SK was a coach on Bailey's staff when BY played DT for the Miners.

Let's let BY season a bit more in the NFL, the Saints defense was horrible, and has always been poor. Nothing against BY, but it may be better for him to stay and learn some more from a new DC.

As for us, I don't want someone to learn on the job. We need someone that knows what they are doing.

According to Miner Rush Yanowsky will be the full time special teams coordinator. Very few g5 schools have special teams coordinators. We've opened up the check book and added another full time coaching posistion. We're not screwing around anynore, I cant wait for football season.
