I thought it was a gutsy performance by players. Yes, CTF sucks. I want him gone. But the players responded to a far superior aggie team (I throw up in my mouth while I type that).

If losing by 9 points is a "gutsy performance", I would hate to know what the score would have been like if they didn't have a gutsy performance.
Never thought I'd see the day where fans would compliment a 9 point loss to the Aggies as gutsy, but that's how bad things have gotten.

2) Perimeter defense failed early in 2nd half when gags and UTEP were shooting barn busters start of 2nd half.
3) Flaggert had to defend 4, sometimes 5 spot. Not his fault. This is because Thomas got into foul trouble and Tirus fouled out early.
4) Gags have a deep bench. Rotation from gags kept fresh legs. McCants from gags took over off gagbench. UTEP had no answer.
5) 3 ball. Gags had critical 3's in 2nd half when UTEP came with 7 to 9 points.
6)Gags shut down Frazier.
This is because of Floyd recruiting and departures and now injuries.
Players eligible tonight still played tough.

You and your clones, miss piggy and the shit shoveller are only happy when you can enjoy a Miner loss because you know there are others who hurt when they lose. I don't know what the spread was on the game as I never saw it, but considering the player losses I fully feared a stomping tonight. It was not!

A coach at any other D1 institution with Floyd's record against a rival school would have already been fired based on that fact alone. It is amazing the UTEP administration allows this to continue, and it is even more unbelievable some fans justify moral victories against the Aggies.

I have always been a UTEP fanatic. What hurts me is the complacency, sometimes downright complicity of some of the fans. Things aren't okay, this is unacceptable, things need to change.
And the thing is I get why the people inside the department are okay with everything, they're getting paid good money to do jack. My question is, why aren't other fans more upset? We're literally getting scammed.
I thought the Aggies controlled the game throughout after coming out flat early on. I don't think having Willms and Wade would have made any difference; and to be honest, I wished we would have picked up Lofton instead of Frazier as a graduate transfer. Floyd got whipped again by another first year Aggie coach.
Not sure what backhanded comment. It is unfortunate that we can't have a women's AND men's team that are good and a football team that can complete. I'm just happy we have a woman's team that has been consistently good over the years,
They are upset. Speaking personally, friends, family, people at my church, clients, business people ask "What the heck is going on with UTEP?!". Only UTEP love is the players on social media who have a loyal following (from friends and family. Lotsa luv from family).
As of NMSU game tonight, I appreciate the gutsy performance.
I agree with everything that has been said here. Any coach with Floyd’s record vs NMSU, failing to come close to sniffing the NCAA Tournament (aside from his first year with Barbee’s players) should feel some pressure from fans/media/AD. Hopefully the new AD will be able to make it perfectly clear what his expectations are for the men’s basketball team.
I've said it many times before. Whining and bitching is a natural reaction to continued unacceptable performance and that's where we are right now (and have been for way too long). As bad as it is right now and as tough as it is to try to have any spirit; what we have is all we have and my general attitude is support the players we have, because they are still our Miners. Proclaiming certain players are not worthy is not a solution. When a kid is out there busting his ass and isn't as successful, demeaning him is not the answer.
Until we have a winning solution, I will continue to "try my best" to support what we have, always hoping that tomorrow brings something better.

C'mon Lil Train! How can you say Willms wouldn't have been a difference maker? Almost 15ppg, over 6 rpg and 2.5 blocks. His fill in Smith played 17 min. with 1 point, 3 rebounds and 5 fouls. Also I feel Wade's presence would have mattered.

I'm not answering for Lil Train but maybe he said that because Willms tends to play small against bigs with some meat on their bones. Not sure who NMSU's post up man is currently, nor did I see any of last night's game so I have no idea how good their big was, but I have witnessed more than several games in the past where Willms was completely ineffective, and might as well have been absent.
Once again....he has been the leading rebounder by far and the second leading scorer. The offense has been primarily run through him so far this season. It's ridiculous to discount his contributions.
I don't think having Willms would have had a change in the outcome of the game; which in the end, is all that matters. On top of that, it is frustrating to see a freshman from Las Cruces out perform Floyd's highly regarded recruits (those still left on the team). This year's team, on paper, had the best chance to finally get a win against a hated rival. I thought the team played hard; but isn't that what they are supposed to do as D1 athletes? The fact that the team lacks enough talent to overcome challenges falls squarely on the coaching staff. The excuse that Floyd's teams start off slow is another example of how some of the fan base has been conditioned to accept mediocrity. Let's see if Floyd is able to pull off a win at home this week.
The Miners couldn't beat App St on a neutral court with Wilms, but he would have made that much more of a difference on the road vs NMSU? Okay...
NMSU is rebuilding to a certain extent. UTEP has zero excuses. Play hard all you want. Still losing. Floyd is lost in the wilderness... Follow the North Star...
