Former UTEP Miners make NFL practice squads

That was confusing . So did Showers make the 53 man roster or the practice squad? This states he will be on both?

Jameill Showers was released when Dallas trimmed its roster to 53 on Saturday but he was added to their practice squad a day later. The dual-threat quarterback out of UTEP is expected to play multiple positions during the week to help the Cowboys prepare for their upcoming opponents. Garrett said the rookie could see practice time at safety, linebacker, wide receiver, quarterback and running back.

“There’s a lot to like about Showers,” Garrett said. “He’s a really talented kid, he can do a lot of things. Obviously to be able to play quarterback and also have the role that he had on special teams throughout training camp and the preseason, that’s impressive physically to be able to do that. Not many quarterbacks can do that and not many special teams guys can do the other thing.”
