No, because UTEP doesn't pay for NIL. Somebody else does.

I believe nmsu is just shy of $700k total for all deals but I don’t know basketball specific.

For reference unm is paying their player Dent $700k and has $2.5 Million total.

Golding switched to the small ball lineup last year because they were having issues scoring offensively. He mentioned he had never run that type of offense. He continued running that offense this year, and brought in Bynum and Barnes to replace Hardy and Powell. The one giant hole on the roster (and there are several) is the lack of a capable 4 player. With his last scholarship Golding brought in DaCannon Wickware at a critical position of need. If that doesn't say what Golding's recruiting is all about, I don't know what does.

When I look at the roster from this year, I see a talent level right where they ended up finishing. In my opinion, Golding should have been fired after the home loss to NMSU. I can't even call NMSU a rival anymore since they have dominated the series for years. Losing by 28 in front of a sellout crowd, with Nevarez in attendance, is beyond embarrassing. All Senter can come up with is nothing is a straight line. SMH.
