In order to have any more Texas teams in the B12, there would have to be a super majority of yes votes on the table. That means 8 other schools would have to vote yes for it. There is Texas and then there is???
7 teams other than UT are needed. 8 votes are necessary, from what I understand.
It's not that Texas cares for UH all that much, or any for that matter. However, key players in the Texas legislature are pushing hard for this to happen. Make no mistake, this isn't just about fb. Hell, even Red McCombs is loudly barking that the Coogs need to be included in the B12. Why is that? Go figure. Ultimately, all Texas schools will follow suit and vote affirmative for UH. ISU Pres, Leath, came out with his carefully worded endorsement of Houston today. WVU Pres, and UH Pres, Khator, have become "chummy" as he speaks highly of her, Houston athletics and UH as an institution. As top dawg along with UT, I can't see Oklahoma going rogue at this time.True, the B12 will probably crash around 2024-25, when the GOR expires, but I don't think Boren is ready to cause any rift between the two schools just yet. OK Lite will follow big bro. And in a showing of solidarity, I expect the two outliers, KU and KSU, to demonstrate a front of conference solidarity. I think ultimately the Coogs will get a unanimous nod and inclusion into the Big XII.
Then again, I could be totally effing wrong!
