If Mr Senter wants a sellout for his first game then Saturday’s game is a must win.
The fact that this game is a toss up is lame. UTEP needs to blast Jacksonville State.

I'm sure FBS teams thought the same of James Madison their 1st year and James Madison had a winning record their 1st year. The reason is simple, Veteran Quality FCS team that'd probably be top 10 in FCS this year vs team in Utep that should be better and win, but is on the road and Vegas or Miner Fans for that matter don't have a reason to fully believe in yet.

I don’t think they did, I’m sure almost every team on their schedule respected JMU. James Madison was operating at a high level G5 budget in the FCS world. Almost double than what we have. They had played in 3 out of the last 6 FCS national championships prior to their FBS move.
JSU is a decent football team but there’s nothing special to them. They operate on a budget much smaller than ours.
This game should not be a toss up. We’ve been at the FBS level forever. Our coach has had six years to implement his system and get his players. Rodriguez is in his second year and shouldn’t have a full roster of FBS talent yet
We’re gonna learn a lot about what we’ve been doing the last 6 years in a few days.
Dimel’s offense which doesn’t put points on the scoreboard and emphasizes time of possession instead of scoring will keep games close, even against inferior competition.
Give this Miner team to a good coach like Kill and he ends this season CUSA Champs.

There are huge differences within FBS teams, let alone FCS. If he really thinks that there is little difference between UTEP football and JSU football then what does that say about his program and our athletic dept?

Jacksonville St. isn't an FCS though anymore. I know it's year one, but they not only got a raise on scholarships, but I'm sure pitched the jump to recruits. Still no excuses as this is their innagural FBS year, but crowd will be stoked and team motivated. I think Utep may be down on the 1st half and then settle in and win on the second half.
I hope it's that and not prepping an excuse for losing...

JSU has a lot to play for, the scenario kinda reminds me of how James Madison rolled MTSU last year and UTSA whipped up Kugler in their first CUSA game. This is not a game where UTEP needs to be trying to control the clock, Dimel should come out swinging then wear them down with ball control.
Only difference in the JMU and UTSA scenarios is UTEP has an experienced front line of starters and should be a close game but going on Dimel’s track record I have it 23-19 JSU but it could go either way, this is the most important game of the season for the Miners and the Dimel era.
I also have UTEP starting 1-5 if they lose this game and finishing at 5-7 or 6-6. Well shall see, but I’m not drinking that kool-aid these media attention seeking clowns on X or twitter are spitting just yet. UTEP’s lack of proven depth at WR, interior D-line, LB and DBs concern me.
