John, a couple of questions regarding J. Springer QB.

John, I assume J. Springer is might be hard to evaluate. He had huge numbers, but unless I am not mistaken the district he played in was not one of the stronger ones in 5A.

What is your personal evaluation of him as a potential QB starter?
How would you compare him in terms of talent to Vittatoe (Euless 2005 State Champs)?
 
The biggest thing about Springer to me is that he's a competitor. Just speaking with him on the phone, you could tell he's going to do everything physically and mentally possible to be a starter.

I think he's just going to come in very raw. He'll need to polish his mechanics and get used to the change of pace at the Division I level. Yes, the area of the state he plays in isn't the strongest, but competition can be overvalued to some degree IMHO.
