NEXT BB GAME?

Just checked Arizona Christian's resume. They've played a few games already, the last of which was against NMSU and only losing to the Aggies by a narrow 83-77. Obviously this will not be a gimme game for us. They can put up some points with a scoring average well into the 90's.
Terry mentioned on last night's coaches show that Chris Beard called him to ask for a game after St Johns cancelled on Tech. It was unclear if this game would happen because Terry got this call during COVID isolations but hopefully it works out.
He has to play tech now. This is a no brainer. Why is he even telling us about the call instead of the date it’s scheduled for?
Update: Tech added a game with Troy on the 4th which decreased the likelihood of this happening.
In other words Terry is all talk. He should have just kept his mouth shut instead of telling the fan base TT challenged us.
We should of had a game with Tech from the start if possible. We still have plenty of space to pick up the 2 NM schools though. Not sure about their schedules
From two connected sources... NMSU wants to play UTEP badly. Senter and Terry dragging their feet.

Why the panic? It's not a normal year obviously for scheduling. Also I didn't see that the St. Mary's nor the AZ. ST game have been cancelled at this point. It sucks the AZ game was cancelled, but I could care less about AZ Christian. If we can get a make up D1 team before conference that'd be great, but I'm sure not easily done.
UTEP is dragging its feet and not looking for alternate games. Arizona just scheduled NMSU, but canceled our game. We could have easily scheduled NMSU and New Mexico as fill in games. Teams all over are doing it, but UTEP is happy to just sit around and do nothing.
I posted an article about teams going to Vegas, as pairs of 4 to 8 and just playing each other. SDSU just had UCLA come to SDSU, with Pepperdine and UCI and everyone was able to play 2 games.
In football, BYU just put Coastal Carolina on their schedule last minute, and SDSU on 2 days notice traveled to Colorado.
It just seems that UTEP is content on a game being canceled, and just not making it up. Most likely due to revenue. There are plenty of alternatives as basketball teams are doing it all over the country. UTEP is not even trying it seems.
